A bit rusty on this, but does the Fire AoE ranks: 8 & 9 still stack?

If they do, is the logical choice for AoE rotation still Fire AoE (forgot name) rank 8,9 then blizzard, repeat. (If arcane spec, cast Arcane Power before blizzard)?

That is correct. You can also throw a POM flamestrike if you are feeling crazy enough as arcane.

Personally I just throw a maxrank flamestrike followed by blizzard and repeat.

Funny you brought up POM...

Myself, I am running the Arcane spec, and i was quite curious, I seen this was not thrown into your post or Mage socks.... Would throwing the occasional POM Fireball in your rotation kill the DPS? I can see it not being an issue if you have proper crit?

the arcane rotation uses POM to Arcane Blast on the 3rd stack. I believe that that was stated in the arcane thread.

Actually, you were right, I must have typed it so many other places that I forgot to add it to that thread. It is now in the section below the rotation.

Being that Arcane is TERRIBLE at trash(AoE spam) I've found a VERY effective method. Saw a guildy Mage using just Blizzard and his DPS was so very sad.
I tossed out a PoM Flamestrike -> Blizzard and I beat out everyone but Rogues in AoE DPS(FoK is completely broken). So definitely fun for AoE adds or trash.

Arcane is so fun, but apparently I did it all wrong all this time (maxed out SP -> Crit, ignoring Haste as 3rd) so I need a lot of new work.

I have 387 Haste in my Fire spec(Arcane has that talent for 6% more)

However I run with ~2200SP and 30% crit on Arcane(can't give exacts, my logout was as fire) but in raid I sit at a solid 64% crit on ABlast. Problem is I do NOT pull 5k dps, ever. Ran with a WELL below me geared Mage on my Pally and he kept 4900DPS up at all times.. but he had like 600 or 700 haste.

A bit nitpicky but remember the arcane 6% talent is multiplicative not additive - so you don't actually gain 6% of real haste (unless they hve changed something))
