Looks like this went top priority on their list today or something. He has been hot fixed and is not tameable anymore. I just tried today with no such luck.

It's not so much that it's a super high priority as much as it is a really really easy fix.

I don't understand the crying really, it was inevitable. I think it's cool that I get to keep him as a skin, even if he's useless in raids.

So far so good, IMO.

I only hoped to get to keep him.

Making him non-feedable was meh... isn't there a way to reset its happiness to 125%? Like entering a BG? I know there is a passive skill somewhere that lets pets gain +5% happiness on crits, but I don't remember if that was a hunter BM skill or a skill in the pet talent tree... which brings me to the only thing that kinda upsets me a little...

If the +5 Happiness gain on crit is a pet skill... you can no longer get into the talent tree or skill book for him... and I think his talents were all reset (or will be the next time Blizz resets points)... also... I am not 100% sure if you can even use any of his innate skills (bite... growl... etc...)...

I heard pre-hotfix macros for his abilities still work, but I can't test that out.

If anyone can clarify on any points I bring up, then by all means.

edit: Oh... and since the hotfix the worg that shows on the character select screen is no longer a regular size worg... he is now a HUGE (and I do mean HUGE) worg...

Haha, yeah, I posted in the comments on Mania's about the preview worg's scary size increase.

Making a new macro now won't trigger the abilities, I dunno about if you made one before the hotfix.

Bloodthirsty is probably the +happiness talent you're thinking of, it's a Ferocity pet talent. Apparently the happiness gain from the mend pet glyph still works, though.

I think I <3 Zarhym now. I may have to actually use my floating skull minipet for a while.

You quite possibly make a reasonable point here. Perhaps costumers are always right. I don't have experience in the field enough to know.

Anyway, thread with more blue responses on the Worgen situation:

At this time it looks like the Petopia site has been suspended from its hosting site...

I am guessing because of the influx of the people who are bombarding it because of the worgen debacle...

I feel bad for Mania...

I don't know if it's the Worgen thing--the blog is still up, after all.

Ah... that is my problem then... I always goto Petopia before clicking over to Mania's other site(s).

Lady Isyris, thanks for mentioning that Mania's blog is still up. I always go there too, through her main website though, which was down today. Glad to still see she's up and running (even if at only 50%, with her main site down due to traffic).

And this is my tinfoil hat thinking as to why Blizzard won't let your hunter have a Worgen:

At times like this the paranoid side of me thinks that the REAL reason Blizz nerfed the Worgen was because so many people were leveling their hunter alts ferociously to tame it, that they were afraid we’d break the servers. I can just imagine a team of WoW developers, grouchy and probably still hung over, sitting around their desk the morning after the holiday weekend going over some game related problems: “Hmm, people still waiting to get into instances. Some classes’ abilities still not working properly. Hunter population on servers increased by 50%. New Worgen skinned pet tamed, with normal hunter pet abilities. OMG THE HUNTERS ARE ALL LEVELING TO GET THE WORGEN PET. TOO MANY HUNTERS! Servers are hiccuping from the strain! We’d better get on this right quick, hotfix it NOW!”

You know, rather than nerfing the pet into oblivion, perhaps Blizzard should have took a harder look at the good it was doing for the hunter community. People were leveling up their hunters together, helping each other tame, and for many of them getting their dusty alts out of the closet and getting reinterested in the class again, only to get their hopes squished into the ground. All over one pet. Yes, granted this is only one pet, but…Blizzard should take this as a big hint…hunters want more pets, more variety of pets. And for many hunters, we can probably agree, 50% of our class is the pet we have. Sometimes I wonder if Blizzard just does things to the hunter class just to discourage everyone from playing it.

Okay, tinfoil hat off now.

Spacepest, and anyone else with conspiracy theories/whining about how it shouldn't have been removed.

Stop being retarded please.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, should have seen a change like this coming.
Hunters can tame beasts, not humanoids.
Garwal looked like a humanoid, thus directly goes against what blizzard wants.
And I can understand why they consider this a larger impact than the hydra/goo/spirit wolf.

If I had to handle it personally, I would have changed all garwals to the wolf skin they should have.
As I think the worgen skin is some sort of hidden buff, so it should have been possible to remove that buff.
Although that could be too much work for something that needed a quick fix.

It was a hidden buff that made him a worgen when tamed, thats why when entering arena he turns back into a normal wolf entering an arena removes all buffs from players and their pets.
