After going to dalaran after taming him last night i had to dismiss him about 5 minutes after getting back i must have gotten 100 whispers about him in those 5 minutes, i named him ShadowFang cause it just felt like a fitting name for a worgen Smiley: grin. The only reason i even had the quest still was because i loved the costume so much Smiley: lol

Yeah, got him. That would be my L.71 Alliance hunter in the picture with Lon (the worgen).

BTW... according to XPerl after you tame him he is still classified as a "Beast", not sure how that works out.

I stated over at Petopia that if they remove the worg or revert to its original form then they should at least do something about the Spirit Wolf and the three summonable pets in Sholazar too...

I would like to keep him even if it meant not being able to feed him.

Who cares about feeding?

It'll take nibbles off of mobs to satisfy it's hunger.

hehe, I never completed that quest because I liked the disguise. I may have to get this if I still can tomorrow.

If Blizzard hops on this little issue, which really doesn't do jack squat but let us have a cool skinned pet instead of concentrating on serious issues like Instance lockouts....they are retarded.

No kidding. Of all the problems for Blizzard to hop on immediately, this is not one of them. Its not like its gamebreaking in any way, or diminishes anyone's gameplay experience. (The worst thing that could happen is this quest mob is camped repeatedly making it hard for people to complete this quest, but this happens with alot of other tameable quest mobs as well).

I'm disappointed that my Alliance hunter can't tame this pet, but those are the breaks. No point in QQ bawling about it (like on the O-boards. Good lord! "We're mad because someone else got something cool in game and I didn't!"). I think of taming rare and odd pets as like finding rare world drops--sometimes you get them, sometimes you don't.

To those of you who are eligible to tame this pet: I wish you good luck, and I hope you get to keep him! :D

The "pet" has a humanoid skin.
Humanoid skins will never be allowed as pets in wow, period.

So however much you want to keep it, I can guarantee you that it'll be gone.

That said, you can be proud and show it off for however long it takes Blizz to fix it ;)

Well.

So they're discussing it, but haven't decided what to do about the ones already tamed.

Since they haven't said "no" already, am I allowed to be hopeful? :D

O-board linky...

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=18315574519&pageNo=1&sid=1#12

Considering I have two hunters (one Alliance and one Horde) that are at the right level to get him... only one was capable of doing it. (See above post of mine)

My Horde hunter went through Howling Fjord a little over a month ago, and when I level alts I try to do every single soloable quest in the zone before moving on... so I am unable to snag one on him.

I am sad that my lovely Horde hunter is unable to get him, but I will be more sad if my Alliance hunter loses him... go figure.

I am pretty 'petted' out on my Horde hunter... he has Nuramoc, Gondria, Loque'nahak, a blight hound, and one of those color changing raptors from Zul'Drak.

I want King Krush, but I have been unable to get him because of two reasons... 1. I have yet to actually see him in SB. 2. If I did see him I highly doubt I could pull off a solo tame, because of him fearing (I know about popping BW then abandoning a pet).

I also have been after the elusive Aotona. I have only seen Aotona once and that is when an Alliance killed it right in front of me... Smiley: cry I would have to say that Aotona is my most sought after pet at this time on my Horde hunter.... unless I just don't know of some better looking pet, but i don't see anything better on Petopia...

Anyone have a special pet that they have been after (not the Worgen Smiley: tongue ), or have gotten recently that they think is cool looking and/or "special"/rare?

I don't tame "rare" pets, as they are really not rare at all.
At the very idea of a rare pet, everyone jumps on it like a horny teenager so they can have a "rare" pet.

When I tame a pet I check petopia for the skin I like the most, and whether that takes the giant trip from Ogrimmar to Dun Morogh at level 11 to tame Polly (my polar bear) or nothing but a quick flight from Ogrimmar to the strand in Ashenvale at level 80 to tame Howlle (my white wolf) doesn't really matter to me.

Naming my pets usually takes more time that taming them anyway. :P

My only "rare" pet is my Hydra--I rushed to 80 so I could get her, and I don't regret it. I'd wanted a hydra pet since I saw the ones under Black Temple...I just wish they were a real tamable pet family.

Heh, I just went and tamed Timber on my little orcie.

Then I decided I didn't like him after all and would rather have one of the black worgs from outside Undercity instead. >.<

That is so true it bears repeating.

My theme is that I name them after my real pets. I have a gray tiger that looks strikingly like my house cat and a black wolf that looks a little like my lab.

I hope they don't buff too many more pets, all I have left is a beagle.

I used to sit on my pets named cat or ravager forever coming up with a good name, but now I just name them something and when I'm inspired I rename them.

I tamed the ghost wolf because I thought it looked awesome, and same with this guy. I also tamed both because it was somewhat of a challenge, which I appreciate. I think it would be really neat to have pets put in that are challenging to tame.

I know that in TBC if two or more hunters had pets with the same name, recap would report their damage as one pet. I remember one hyjal run where all the hunters got a ravager and didn't rename it. It created a super pet that did some crazy amount of dps. Great amusement was had reporting the dps numbers. There were 5 of us I think, we had a lot of hunters.

Recount still does that. I had a group in H-AN with a hunter who's pet was named Hadronox; after the actual boss fight, recount reported the pet as doing fifteen thousand dps. Smiley: laugh

That's just sad.

Meanwhile, someone on a Blizzard server somewhere is waiting in line to enter a "full instance." But hey, Blizz stopped those evil Worgen hunter pets from corrupting the world! Hotfixed in a few days! /facepalm

You know, I'm probably going to be rated down for saying this, but...after witnessing all this, it makes me wonder if doing a client side model swap to get a hunter a pet Worgen would be worth it (or even feasible).

Possible, yes--not a good idea, for two reasons. First Blizzard absolutely does not approve of that sort of thing, and secondly, you wouldn't just be altering your own pet, you'd possibly be mucking around with everything that used the same model + skin. At least the way the druid edits work, they re-skin ALL druids (to the user's eye),not just the forms of the person using it.

Actually I recall doing this with FFonline. Enter your mog house and find Kira waiting for you instead of your moogle. This of course was all player side and no one else could see it. Funny...yes... legal...probably not.

So I guess blizzards response to Garwal is we can keep him, but now he is functionally useless, unlike the grimtotem spirit guide or the hydra or ooze. Oh golly gee hooray.

EDIT: And now when I swapped him out for my worm in the stable, he got copied and my worm got erased. Joy.
