Worgen Pet?Follow

So apparently there is a hunter on the Darkspear server(US) that has found a way to obtain a Worgen as a pet. Not to be confused with a worg, a worgen is a half wolf/half humanoid creature. He doesn't seem to be telling anybody how he did it. Anybody have any ideas?

Link to the original thread is here.

Here is a SS the OP took which can be found here.

That guy seems spot on.

Blizz is going to take it away, guaranteed. It's happened before with things like that, including the Striped Tiger mount that some guy had, he posted on the o-boards and it was taken away in hours.

<--that guy, lol.

I'm kind of disappointed that it wasn't the rarespawn, but I'm glad someone at least found him to test it, I was going nuts flying in circles in HF--it really seems like it must have been the UP boss and then that got fixed.

I'd feel bad about the guy probably losing his pet, but then with his refusal to tell anyone how he got it, I can't have too much sympathy for him. I remember when the Hydra was tamable I made sure to tell everyone I could how to get it, I know I would have felt awful if I'd been able to get it but not known how and missed out.

Gah, sorry!

I'd try questioning this guy/finding the mob myself, but I'm banned, so nothing I can do. Though, if we get enough people looking for it, or asking him, we might get a lead (probably to the mob he tamed back yonder).

hehe, it was funny, that's all.

It's odd that the pet did not show as elite in the screenshot, since I think most pets do retain their status now (at least for the tooltips). That really narrows the options down a lot, if it's not an elite.

I need to go back and read the first couple pages again, wasn't someone saying they'd seen tame beast cast on the UP boss before?

edit--yeah, here's where it was mentioned:

Actually you can tame a worgen. The problem is living through it. The boss in UP, is flagged as a beast, even though he's a worgen. Have fun trying to live through that while It beats the crap out of you.

Or stack some leather dodge gear, and deterrence before training him2

Anyone tried this?
I've had a hunter try it last patch while i was healing, he got the tame thing up and then was savagly killed...
So i'd go ahead and give it a shot incase they didn't change it

After looking at the screenshot again, a little closer, I'm pretty sure it's a shop.

That's what he gets for casting Dash. If he didn't he would've tricked us all :(

I had a Ninja Pet once.

A GM did it.

Does that also explain why you're a human in Halls of Stone? Or was that deviate delight?

GM did that too, and it was at Artruis, he was bugged and I called a GM.
GM came and fixed it for me, and then he cheered me on while I killed Artruis.

The worgen pet is also a buff, just look at the buff icon.
I know of no buff a pet has that shows that icon. (there could be some pet special though, but I'm betting that's the worgen skin)

Ahh, well there were pretty sparkly rocks distracting me...xD

I'm pretty sure the second buff on the pet is...actually, I'm not sure what the icon is, since it's not Rabid after all. Bloodthirsty? But it's definitely not the same as the worgen transformation debuff, so I dunno.

I'm pretty sure that Bloodthirsty doesn't show an icon when it procs, not positive though.

I doubt it would, isn't it an instant heal?

Dammit I'm BM I should know these things.

It's the same icon as bloodthirsty, but bloodthirsty isn't a buff.

And the logical (and obvious) explanation is that that buff is what makes it look like a worgen.

The dumb OP of that thread should've moused over it.... -.-

Well, now things are getting a little more interesting, with more people claiming to have tamed it. LOL.

Though I'm bored enough that if someone posts a how-to I will go check it out.

That thread is so bad, sometimes I wish that I could spend the money to get a new account just to troll the o-boards.

Every time I go to mewtwo and throw that ball at him he does a font sized 72 LOL at my ***.

Seriously, wat?

That guy seems to have the "answer" (/rolleyes). I'm assuming you just grab the quest, put on that disguise, and tame the guy (/rolleyes). Not sure if there's a Horde equivalent (nor do I care).

Aethien's right though, don't waste your time, it's just a hoax.

Interestingly the most recent screenshot doesn't have the mystery buff.

And yeah, I know I know, but I have plenty of time to waste.

Bah, same here >.> Guess I'm not too bummed about it, seeing as I already missed out on the ghost wolf and such. Atleast you other hunters get a chance =\ Grats if you tamed it.

It is going to get hotfixed though.

Blizzard will not let us have a humanoid pet, guaranteed.
