I'm having a heated discussion about a few things.
1. I'm currently at 1542 sp but i still need to socket 3 gems and a meta gem. I was told to focus on sp. by one mage, another told me hit, and another said crit.
They all had valid points and gave good reasons why i wouldn't need one or the other. Who was right??
2. What should my stats somewhat look like?
3. Any good instances besides Uldar should I focus on?

Can you post your armory, that will tell us which pieces you still need to socket, how much hit you have, what spec you are using, and what instances you are running/need to run.
By the way, ALWAYS use a Chaotic Skyflare Diamond.

Thats my armory. I just got my tier 7 helm and chest.
Its a meta and red for the helm. And a red and yellow for the chest. Chaotic skyflare needs two blue to activate which i don't have just yet.
My hit rating is 115 right now.
I'm fire with a splash of arcane.
And as for instances, I'm running all the heroics I can right now. I just ran OS 10, and Naxx 10 for the first time.

Okay a few things:
Your gear isn't nearly good enough to be fireball spec. You are short around 250 hit rating (that shouldn't be gemmed/enchanted for - with the exception of boots) to spec that. I recommend either going arcane or frostfire to start out.
Your meta gem needs to be a chaotic skyflare.
Red gem slots should always be straight spellpower.
Yellow slots should generally be (not including hit) spellpower/haste for fireball or arcane and spellpower/crit for frostfire.
Blue slots should be spellpower/spirit.
You only need 2 of them, any extras I would just gem spellpower unless it has a really good socket bonus.
Oh, and your first trinket is awful, you haven't gotten a better one since level 62? There were quest rewards that were far better. Save up and get the sundial of the exiled while trying to get a forge ember in the mean time (halls of stone)
Boot enchant should be icewalker (12hit/12crit)
Keep working on your Kirin Tor rep, you will want the head enchant -- same with Hodir.
Glyph of Mirror image isn't just bad, it is awful.
If you stick fire/frostfire you want:
main nuke (fireball/frostfire bolt)
molten armor
living bomb
arcane:
arcane missiles
arcane blast
molten armor (or mana gem if you run oom)

Try different specs. You will do more damage in that gear as arcane. It's fine for Anobix to talk about the merits of Fire spec, but for mere mortals (aka the undergeared), I think arcane is the way to go. I like it in Ulduar.
