There's a new pet out for 3.2.
His name is Skoll, and he's a wolf on drugs. He has dark hair, and gives off lightning!
But he's not a wolf, he's a spirit beast. So not really that cool for the non-BM's. He's a rare spawn, so be prepared to camp.

I'd say this one is between Gondria (absolutely hideous) and Loque (not pretty) at weird and ugly.
I doubt they'll ever make a spirit beast I would want next to me.

Hi Guys
Just want to share wot a Kool pet Skoll is, I tamed him today on Moonglade server at 1.50pm at cords 28.51. Now i have all 3 spirit beasts so i am one happy BM hunter.

I use an old model white wolf, one of the prettiest models for pets ingame.

I'm getting a black raptor for my Troll once I get my Ravasaur mount.
I've always liked raptors for her, the whole hyena thing was kind of unexpected actually.

Instead of spirit burn or whatever the hell spirit beasts get. They would have Spirit Claws. The animation would be of a raptor foot giving spirit fingers and then multiple multi color burn wounds would streak across the mob.

OK since the topic is up on pretty vs ugly pets lets see what you all think of my taming choices.
1st Ghostsabre named Mystical, yes I had to have a Ghostsabre!
2nd Olm The Wise named Olm OMG! two reaons: Disarm is amazingly handy and he is so rarely tamed. Just wish he had that good 'ol blood thirst.
3rd Trachela named Trachela, the debuff of carrion birds is far more handy in instances then it is ever given credit for!
4th Sian'Rotam named Sianrotam....are we seeing the trend here yet?
5th Devilsaur named Albinosaurus, and if that name doesn't give away the trend I don't know what will.
So thats five white pets, five fairly rare pets(I know I know, the Ghostsabre is becoming a cliche but its still friggin cool), and five pets that have turned the tide in several close calls.

Post script my now previously abandoned pets include Timber, Bjarn, Hayoc, Death Howl, Uhk'Loc, one frostsabre stalker that was only around long enough for me to bag Sian'Rotam, and a Foreststrider Clutchmother just cuz I wanted to see her smaller LOL! >And the one nightsabre way way back at the beginning of my hunters career that was just a pet of necessity<

Is petopia being updated? Seemed like I checked a couple months ago, and I thought it wasn't being updated. I haven't played my hunter since Lich King came out. Thinking about doing so. But there are so many changes in the year since I played him.
Back then I was using a ravager pet. Awesome dps. Good in pvp or pve. Not pretty, but I'm not going for looks here. I have no idea what's good now.

Mania's been keeping it fairly up to date, not sure what you're talking about specifically. I think last time I visited it had a different address, though, maybe she moved it?

I just have to disagree (politely) with you.
I think the new wolf pet is pretty, but compares in NO way to Gondria which is, in my opinion, the most beautiful tamable beast in the game.
I dual-box a pair of hunters, and took a few days to camp myself two Gondrias. They are "totally awesome", to use the lingo of my younger brethren.

Blizzard takes a lot of ideas from Norse mythology... mostly it's just Vrykul things. Sköll means treachery in Old Norse. He's the wolf that will eat Sól (the sun) at Ragnarök, while his brother, Hati, eats Máni (the moon).
Can't Blizzard have original ideas? -_-
Anyway, I've been looking for Skoll while in Storm Peaks anyway (searching for the Time-Lost Proto-Drake...) and I can't find him. I don't really like him, I'd just like to have a spirit beast.
