pvp arcane talent treeFollow

I have been playing arena lately and don't seem to do enough dmg with my frost talents so I would like to try arcane. What is a good arcane talent tree set up for pvp?

Cheers

There isn't really a prototypical arcane setup for pvp.

You can go into the frost tree and pick up icy veins or you can go into the fire tree and get burning determination. Other than that, you're going to pick up whichever arcane talents float your boat.

The frost spec 20/0/51 is the most popular atm and the only real cookie cutter build. Even at that, mages are not well represented in the top 100 2v2 teams, and it looks like they all use the frost/arcane build for most of their matches. Knowing your team composition might help in giving advice. Could be your biggest problem is your team mates' specs and not yours.

Arcane is not an ideal spec to pvp in, but it can be a lot of fun for battlegrounds and wintergrasp (any situation where you're not going to be immediately killed and you're going to be running a lot). Take a "typical" pve arcane spec, then make sure you have slow, arcane barrage and improved counterspell... the rest you should be able to figure out if you've got experience with arcane.

You'll have fun with melee classes, but a good frost mage will keep you humble. I don't touch arena... so I wouldn't know if it's a good idea there or not.

A lot of people still try to pick up POM + Pyro.

I teamed up with a priest and rogue, funny enough it went a lot better with the priest.
My arena game with frost spec is that I freeze and then cast frostbolt and that is basically it. I pop pet and mirror and a do a poly every now and then but that seems in most instances a waste of time. I was hoping that with arcane I could do a lot more dmg since its faster.

The idea is to stack a lot of haste (thus reducing your resi to 500ish). This way you'll be able to get more fb's and il's during a deep freeze then you normally would. Besides that your sp matters a lot as well.

The things you just mentioned doing as a frost mage are right on. The only imporant aspect is the time you actually use deepfreeze. Against a healer for instance; if you fb him, pet nova, deepfreeze, fb, il, il, counterspell, you'll have plenty of time to get him at least to 20% and probably lower. Then a cc from your partner, being fear, blind, gouge, will kill him most of the time.

But that's only from vids I checked and from TBC arena. My mage just dinged 80 and i'm gearing him up week by week now.

If u spec arcane in arena you probably want another dps partner instead of a healer or a rogue, a destro lock for example.

Also, try to get your rogue and priest mate to a rmp 3vs3 comp. Not only because 2vs2 will be useless the next patch (and training for it thus 2) but the rmp comp is very cool to play if you time it all right.
