What's up Alla,
My guild is running Naxx-10 and Eye Of Eternity regularly now, which gives me possible access to both Kel'Thuzad's reach (fist) and Hailstorm (sword). I have the titansteel shanker in off hand. The other two epic rogues in the guild insist that fist/dagger generates more dps than sword/dagger - but I don't know enough about their respective builds to call their bluff or believe them. I am combat spec, and like it, but am not taking MUT out of the range of possibilities - what do you all think? Which weapon track is favorable, IYHO.

Seeing as fist weapons and daggers share a weapon specialization talent (Close Quarters Combat), and non-sword weapons can no longer proc the Sword Specialization talent (I believe; can anybody confirm?), a Fist/Dagger spec will yield higher DPS than a Sword/Dagger spec simply by virtue of 5 additional talent points to allocate to other talents. This has also been tested and proven in both theoretical (i.e. spreadsheets) and in-game (i.e. target dummies, actual raid parses) settings.
Of course, the weapons that you actually obtain should guide your talent choices more than the weapons that you could obtain. When in doubt, use the highest level weapons you currently have, and worry about re-spec'ing if and when you get better weapons.

All I can say is the top dps in our guild is a rogue (not me, I hover around 4th) w/ 6k avg dps in uld25, and he also prefers fist/dagger.

This is a farely common question and the simple anwser is go with the spec that matches your best weapons. if your swords are better pick them, if your fist/dagger are better go with them. I myself am using sword atm as they were a clear upgrade from my Naxx weapons, if a nice MH fist drops for me i'll respec in a heartbeat bt unl it does i am happy with swords.

No, given equal wpns swords>fist/dagger>maces. But since there are no PvE iLvl239 MH swords/maces or 1.4 spd OH swords/maces(of iLvl239) this makes fist/dagger the best choice for PvE currently.

Hi im a complete nub when it comes to the spreadshhet.. i wish i wasnt but .. i indeed am.
That being said i just got my hand on Calamitys grasp.. was using greed, for OH i have webbed death and knetic ripper.
The ripper has more base damage and is 1.50 speed webbed death is lower base damage but is 1.40 speed ... what do you guys think i should use?

But sadly, this isn't an ideal world, so making that kind of statement is pointless.
When relevant weapons are put in the game, then you're find making that statement, but right now it's worthless.
BTW, if you don't know who the last two (or three) women are, google them. I'd hit it.

This is so true. Since the best weapons rely on RNG working out for you, you have to go with what you can get.
Right now I've got Kel'thuzad's reach and Kinetic Ripper equipped. Last night the Rune-etched Nightblade dropped from Iron Council but I can't really use it until I get a MH sword.
