Haven't been here in a while, been messing around with the talent calculator on wow head and was wandering about this spec here...

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#hVIVqbdhuGb0hZMhgIoVz0M:GdMVc0

I know its part enh but I thought maybe some of these talents might help for pvp, I miss out on TS which would be missed and also lose some other great talents, but it seems I just can't survive in pvp so I was thinking something like this might help, focusing on Fire Totems, Shock Spells, and Lightning Shield.

I figure with instant ghost wolf (and ghost wolf changes in upcoming patch) paired with improved earth bind and nova totem, as well as improved frost shock, i may be able to whittle down melee a bit better and go in for a Lava Burst to finish the job...

Or should I just stay deep ele with something like this?

Any help and suggestions from a successful ele shaman would be helpful

I know resil will help more too as I get more of it, but these melee just seem to chew me up like nothing

The main reason for the first would be because it doesn't have Astral Shift, a very necessary talent for Ele PvP. TS is also extremely useful, as well as only 3/5 in Lightning Mastery might get you interrupted more often.

Be aware that Frozen Power only works when the target is 15 or more yards away from you. You'd have to see them coming first, which can be troublesome.

The 'whittle down' idea is nice, maybe shifting focus from burst DPS to whittle-and-live, but Ele doesn't have enough survivability, especially without Astral Shift.

This is what Arena Junkies recommends. http://www.arenajunkies.com/talents/shaman/56_15_0/

It's older, it has talents that don't exist any more (Elemental Shields, but that's been replaced by Elemental Warding, so take that instead) but it's got the right gist of the idea.
