Arms

* Blood Frenzy - 10% attack speed modifier now only affects melee attack speed
* Armored to the Teeth now Increases your attack power by 3 for every 108 armor value you have. (Old - 3 AP every 180 Armor)

That's all our changes so far from what I can see, some more AP never hurt but I'm not sure it's going to make a hell of a lot of difference

There are some crafted things up on the MMOchampion site but I can't be bothered to link them all but here are the T9 sets

DPS

That's the 232 ilvl set, there's also a 245 and 258 set with more of the same stats

Quote:
# Warrior Melee T9 2P Bonus (Berserker Stance and Battle Stance) (Class: Warrior) -- Berserker Stance grants an additional 2% critical strike chance, and Battle Stance grants an additional 6% armor penetration.
# Warrior T9 Melee 4P Bonus (Execute and Slam) (Class: Warrior) -- Increases the critical strike chance of your Slam and Execute abilities by 5%.

Those are your set bonuses, the 4pc seems to be more beneficial for arms but still not too bad for fury

Prot

Once again that's the ilvl 232 gear

Quote:
# Warrior T9 Tank 2P Bonus (Intervene) (Class: Warrior) -- Decreases the cooldown on your Intervene ability by 5 sec.
# Warrior T9 Tank 4P Bonus (Shield Block) (Class: Warrior) -- Decreases the cooldown on your Shield Block ability by 20 sec.

Now I can't help but feel Blizzard dropped the ball here... When tanking I barely ever use intervene (I don't actually remember the last time I did) and maybe I should be but the 2pc set seems lack-luster. The 4pc I'm not entirely sure about, with talents this would give SB a 50% uptime (Last I checked there was a talent to bring it down 20 seconds) but how this affects us as tanks I don't know (Still kinda new to the job myself)

Anyone else got any opinions on this round of patch notes?

yeah, that shield block set bonus is crazy good imo. with talents, SB is at a 40s cooldown with a 10s duration. with the set bonus and talents, its a 20s CD with a 10s duration. as you said, 50% uptime, great for mitigation as well as threat generation (literally half of all your shield slams will hit twice as hard as they normally do, so basically this is a 50% increase in shield slam damage...i think).

the talent changes leave a bit to the imagination, but really i kinda like where warriors are now. shattering throw could use a shorter CD (two minutes imo, .5s cast time would be nice too), but in terms of talents i think we're ok, at least as far as arms and prot goes.

fury needs help. they need to make the top part of the tree not suck. hell, the whole tree has a lot of filler stuff in it that doesnt provide the benefit that it should. and of course, at the bottom of fury we have the sorest thumb of all, the nerfed titans grip. how id love for them to un-nerf it, but i doubt theyll be finding an elegant solution to it anytime soon, if at all. it just sickens me, on a deep, principle-based level, that we have a talent that completely negates the talent that came before it. absolutely disgusts me that they did that, especially coming from a company with a track record of relative elegance in their game design.

Not quite, SB increases your block value by 100% but not the base damage of your shield slam. Still, half of your Shield slams hitting harder is still nothing to laugh at.

On the topic of Titans grip... As much fun as the idea is in hindsight I kinda wish they didn't implement it, it's caused too many problems and like you said a 51 point talent that negates the 5 talent points before it seems wrong.

yeah, i really wish they hadnt put TG in sometimes too. it seems like theyve really lost any kind of idea of what the fury tree is supposed to be.

at least arms is fun again. we'll see how the upcoming resilience changes are going to affect it tho, specifically in terms of rage generation (which im afraid might end up taking a dump).

Warrior with 32,400 armor (not random, derived for no decimals)

Old - 32400 / 180 = 180 * 3 = 540 AP

New - 32400 / 108 = 300 * 3 = 900 AP

360 bonus attack power that will scale higher as the armor rises isnt bad at all.

32400 armor? Are we still talking dps? And, for that matter, warriors?

My Death Knight has 15,000 armor in his DPS stance, so using those mediocre values (part epic, part blue PvP gear):

Pre-3.2: 250 attack power
Post-3.2: 416 attack power (roughly)

It's 166 attack power extra (roughly), or 66%, but only about 12 additional DPS.

in my pvp mix of deadly, hateful, off-set furious and valorous gear (the 2 piece tier 7 bonus is great for dks, pve or pvp), ive got around 21kish armor in frost presence. im sitting a hair under 14k in blood or unholy.

my warrior has about the same armor. with shield in tank gear its a bit above 22k, and without its about mid 13k. lets call it 13.5k for the sake of ease. thats 225 AP with the current AttT. going from 180 to 108 armor per AP boosts the gain on my warrior from 225 to 375, a gain of 150 AP.

its a boost, but not a major one. i think this is more blizzards way of saying "hey, wear plate! its good fer ya!" coupled with their newfound "baby-steps" approach to balancing (contrast with their "rape it in the eye sockets" approach they used with titans grip).

so, as maz said, youre looking at a 10-15 dps increase for dps warriors, based on their armor, assuming they wear plate. of course, thats only for white damage, and the way specials work out changes things, but i personally doubt that even adding specials into the equation youd get more than two or three times the value of the base dps increase. at the end of it, we're probably gaining a minimum of 20 dps with this buff, but even if we were getting a 60 or 80 dps increase it would still leave most warriors rather far behind in terms of overall damage done. now, thats probably somewhat due to the prevalence of aoe in LK raids, which does a great job of padding dps for some classes, but even barring that warriors dont get "good" single target damage unless theyre fury stacking a high amount of ArP. even then, said fury warriors, while they do better than their arms counterparts or lesser geared furies, still fall behind other classes by a decent margin.

that said, the silver lining of this is maybe its just the start of a small line of buffs to warrior damage. i dont mind baby steps, and i certainly dont have any reason to believe blizzard will stop here, or at least thats my hope anyway.
