The spell interrupt effect only matters if the opposing class is stun immune or has some sort of stun resistance. Like a Death Knight with Icebound Fortitude up. But hey, silencing a Death Knight is like silencing a Hunter. Not really effective, y'know.
Of course, a lot of classes get talents to reduce the duration of stuns. Priests do. Now, take Bash, for instance. 4 second stun, 5 with talents. Priests get a 30% stun duration reduction from talents, which puts Bash at 3.5 seconds. The spell interrupt lasts 3 seconds.
Meaning the Priest would still be stunned longer than the duration of the spell interrupt. Of course, if the Druid doesn't have the talents, the Priest will get a whoppin' 0.5 seconds of casting if the spell interrupt is removed from the effect.
I totally see this nerf being justified, because the amount of Disc Priests being roflstomped by Druids is, like, you know... a lot, I guess.
