OK Im a lvl 80 dual spec disc/shadow but on my shadow side i have almost no hit gear what so ever. I will say though i still have not even stepped foot into some of the northrend places such as sholazar basin and icecrown or stormpeaks. Do many of the quest there drop more +hit.Please help a shadow priest out:)
Heroic Violet Hold will drop a trinket off the last boss, Mark of the War Prisoner, it will give you 73 hit and on use 346sp for 20sec.
There is plenty of hit gear out there in Northrend, try www.lootrank.com or shadowpriest.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=17461 which has some info on pre-raid spriest gear.

Get the craftables on that site (head,gloves,chest,ring)
Enchant hit to gloves, boots
Socket hit

How many emblems and gold do you have?
Dark Soldier Cape = 29hit
Encircling Burnished Gold Chains = 25hit
Ebonweave Gloves = 51hit
Ebonweave Robe = 68hit
Ward of the Violet Citadel = 38hit
Plush Sash of Guzbah gemmed with 16hit = 53hit (not including the belt buckle socket)
You could enchant your gloves with 20hit, you boots with 12hit/12crit.
Total comes out to 296 hit(above hit cap). This quick list doesn't require rng, just lots of gold and emblems.
On second thought, you could gem the belt buckle with 16 hit and enchant your gloves with sp and that would still keep you above hit cap(289).

Within 3 days of hitting 80 my shadow priest has 300 hitrating. Ebonweave is a good source, heck there is even some pvp armor that is alright to use until you find better PVE.
