Diseaseless... with DiseasesFollow

I usually raid as diseaseless blood 51/1/19 but Ive been thinking about changing my rotation a bit for boss fights. Instead of using 2 heartstrikes all the time for blood runes, would it be worth it to use diseases at the beginning of the fight and use a blood rune to refresh diseases so I get the bonus damage on the deathstrikes/heartstrikes?

Obviously I would need to switch out a glyph for the diseases to refresh on my target.

So, yes, get IT and PS into your cycles.

Yes, it would be better.

Or, you can use your current glyphs, change one DS per 20 seconds to a PS+IT.

And, either way, you should switch to a 51/0/20 build. Epidemic 1 point > RPM.

I would imagine so.

For one thing, 15 more RP (assuming you ALWAYS have a full 115 when you DS which will likely not be the case) is only 3% more DS damage. And this will rarely be the case. For one, it is a waste to use a DS at full RP--you lose out on almost half a DC that 3/8 a DC that way. What RPM actually helps is the fact that you can use one at 100 RP without going over, if we ignore RP gained passively. Secondly, DS is not your primary attack, HS is. And HS benefits from...

Epidemic. 1 point is an additional tic of disease damage (easily 400 more with average gear) but also another 10% heart strike damage on the final one of your rotation, every 20 seconds. It also leaves you free to move your HSs to later in the rotation, to insert DCs, to dump RP before generating it for your next DS.

And, that leaves you free to actually DC more, which is much better.

There may very well be a rotation and build that really takes advantage of RPM. But I haven't seen it. Blood is really the most complicated build now, if you use the DS glyph. If you don't, it is the simplest.

Some points, for clarity:

1 Point in Epidemic is there so that diseases can last the entire length of an 18-sec rune cycle and thus always apply to your strikes. 2 points are a waste due to clipping. The additional disease damage is a minimal if nice added bonus, but not the driving factor to use the point there.

Raiding as Blood you should never cap 100 rune power much less 130. Spending talent points because you "think" they're useful without practical experience or well-thought-out logic is usually wasting points. Only fight I worry about capping when spec'd Blood is Vesax and then only 'cause I'm waiting to interupt.

Blood cycles are stupid easy. So stupid easy in fact, even I can understand them. Don't over-complicate something so beautifully simple.

Split DCs between the natural blood rune and the FU/Death Rune uses. For instance: HS-HS-DC...-DS-DS-DC... Pest as needed.

Hmmm.. might be time to edit the faq.... groan.
