Too many abilities with too little effect on their own, not as much in this case but in general for hunters in PvP.

Spot on, a million tiny, and situational abilities don't even come close to matching what other classes have available.

Just for fun, our cooldowns in 3.2 as it looks now:

Roar of Sacrifice, 2 min cooldown
Master's call, 1 min cooldown
Fire traps, 30(22) sec cooldown
Frost traps, 30(22) sec cooldown
snake trap, 30(22) sec cooldown
Deterrence, 90 sec cooldown
rapid fire, 5 min cooldown
wyvern sting, 60(54) sec cooldown
Scatter shot, 30 sec cooldown
Disengage, 25 sec cooldown
Charge, 25 sec cooldown
Pin, 40 sec cooldown
Feign Death, 25 sec cooldown
Intervene, 30 sec cooldown
Flare, 20 sec cooldown
Kill Command, 60 sec cooldown
Lock and Load, 22 sec cooldown (yes, you'll have to be aware of that too to avoid dropping traps before it's up and gimping yourself)

And then our shots:
Aimed shot, 10(8) sec cooldown
Explosive/Arcane shot, 6 sec cooldown
Concussive shot, 12 sec cooldown
Tranquilizing shot, 8(6) sec cooldown
Viper Sting, 15 sec cooldown

That's 22 cooldowns altogether.

Now look at other random stuff:
Serpent sting
Steady shot
Wing clip
raptor strike
mongoose bite
Mend pet
aspect of the dragonhawk
aspect of the viper
aspect of the cheetah (very little use, but it has some)
track humanoids
track hidden
track beasts
pet attack
pet follow
pet stay
Volley
Hunter's mark

Another 17 things we need to have close by, makes for a total of 39 already. (+2 for the second frost and fire trap)
Add PvP trinket, possibly second trinket and a load of macro's to help you and you're rapidly approaching 50 keybinds.

Did I miss anything?

Not that you really need ALL of those, but it does get really ******* annoying when you have to keybind something new and important (Black Arrow), when you have everything set up just the way you like it.

Maybe add a new talent deep in the BM build. Something that is like 20 points in, 2 tiers so not to have to invest to many points in it.

Ability Name:
Improved Taunt(I suck at making up names)
2 point talent
Tier One: 25% chance on Taunt to stun/daze target for 1 seconds
Tier Two: 25% chance on Taunt to stun/daze target for 3 seconds

Again, just an idea and probably not a good one.

You're kidding, right?

I was just trying to give an idea on making BM more attractive being everyone b!tches about it sucking. In all honesty, Wing Clip sucks, Concussive shot CDT is to long and standard effect to short, Traps CDT are to long(until patch, a good step in the right direction) and Intimidation is far to short compared to other jobs stun effects. Problem is we are pressing more CC buttons and doing no damage in hopes to stay far enough away to stand still for a second or two to fire a shot.

Concussive shot should do some sort of damage(50% weapon damage).
Intimidation should do some sort of damage(50% melee damage).
Wing Clip should do some sort of damage(bleed effect)

Just those three things right there are three actions that do no damage while just about any other class is doing the same three actions but doing damage or applying a 5-7 second stun to Hunters whopping 3, if BM specced.

Standard shooting should be able to happen even while moving but maybe with an increased delay. How about melee classes can't swing their weapon while they are bouncing around or chasing someone, see the point. Hunter is so far more dependent on cool down timers than any other job it feels like.

I know, I know, I should know my class and adapt to every situation or just stop complaining or quit. I am trying to say that any class should be able to survive being jumped and surviving through a stun to maybe turn the tide of the fight.

Survival Spec may be that different, I haven't specced that yet and only have been a 51 build in BM and MM. But I am doing PvE more than anything else, so Survival doesn't look interesting to me yet. Blizzard obviously knows that BM is lacking hence them adding a change to Catlike Reflexes to improve Kill Command to help add DPS.

Well they got rid of the so called "dead-zone", so anything is possible.

...

You do realize that the dead zone change didn't do anything significant, right?

Pre-Patch:

|---Melee---|---Dead Zone---|---Ranged---|

Post-Patch:

|---Melee---|---Ranged---|

So useful! Now instead of being stuck in melee with the dead-zone x yards away, and range another x, you're stuck in melee with range still however many yards away.

Either way, you were just getting stuck somewhere where you couldn't shoot stuff.

Edit: Oooh, I get it! You were just talking about Blizz changing game mechanics...

Sorry :(
