Frost Sigil - where art thou?Follow

I'm seriously lacking a sigil for my Death Knight right now. The starter sigil is great for casual Blood (+dmg to Heart Strike) and the Venture Bay thing you can buy in Grizzly Hills is great for casual Unholy (+dmg to Scourge Strike). But where's the great sigil for Frost?

I've got one right now that increases my Icy Touch damage by 111. I mean, it's so "meh" you can almost taste it. Icy Touch is used once every 14 seconds or less due to Glyph of Howling Blast refreshing the disease constantly. I rarely use Icy Touch for anything other than when I'm DPSing so to not pull AOE aggro.

Next upgrade is Sigil of the Vengeful Heart which is a drop from 25-man Ulduar. I won't ever get to see 25-man Ulduar so fat chance. It's awesomesauce, though (+300ish damage to Frost Strike). And the PvP sigils are crap. 100ish attack power when I use Plague Strike? Smiley: banghead

There are so many cool Shaman, Paladin and Druid relics out there. Why can't they put a mediocre Frost Strike sigil in the game?

Doh, I completely forgot about that one. Though I must admit, I was hoping for a Frost Strike sigil.

Since I'm a complete and utter moron lately, could anyone tell me where to go to get those badges? I've looked through it all and it seems you get them from 10-man instances, right? Or am I completely off here?

What do you get from heroics nowadays?

Edit: Oh, you need to do 25-man raids to get those badges? Ouchies. The badges I'd get from heroics would allow me to get some rather crappy sigils. One that boosts my defense rating and one that increases my crit rating when I use Blood or Heart Strike. Yay, Frost!

I'd settle for mediocre, but Icy Touch damage is pretty weak compared to the sister sigil that boosts Scourge Strike. I guess it's because Frost Strike isn't a FU ability. Oh well, I'll see if I can't get my hands on that Awareness one.

I have yet to do the math, but I get the feeling that the BS sigil is still better for frost until you get the Oblit one, now that IT has been nerfed.

What I need to test is whether or not the IT damage comes before or after the other bonuses IT gets through the tree. If before, it may be better (but I still doubt it).

BS on the other hand get +90. You'll use two per rotation and, if it gets talent bonuses, will still get a boost from having FF on the target. Plus Frost gets some +damage to BS talents as well.

So, before talents and such, it is like this:

IT-- +111 damage per 20 seconds.
BS-0 +180 damage per 20 seconds.

As a feral tank, let me just say
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
No."

The best feral tanking idol is a level 70 BoJ that was just replaced by an Ulduar 25 boss drop. We're in the same boat, except you can at least get an Emblem of Valor one. Just pug VoA and OS-25 each week and it won't take too long. Both of those can be done in pugs.

I don't even know what VoA and OS-25 stands for. Not sure I'm the right guy to put in a raid PUG. My awkward mind can only deal with that which I can see. Odd raid tactics and phases that require you to stand in certain spots at certain times is bound to make me very hated in the group sooner or later.

I'm good at PvP, because I know what I'm dealing with there. You don't wipe if you jump at the wrong time or move to the wrong side during a certain part of a phase or something.

Raids + Mazra = fail.

I get through normal instances because I tend to overgear for them. That way, even if I do something stupid, chances of insta-gibbing myself and the entire group is minimal. In heroics, I tend to do the same, except I also spend a lot of time on WoWwiki.com. Raids are just epic fail for me.

Closest thing you can put me in is a 10-man UBRS run. Or LBRS. Just don't make me kite the general or whatever his name is. *shudder* My Hunter is still recovering from that experience.

Well, then I don't know what to tell ya. Be happy with the IT glyph from Grizzly Hills PvP I guess. Otherwise read up on VoA (Vault of Archavon), OS (Obsidian Sanctum), EoE (Eye of Eternity) and Naxx strats; Join LFG and start praying that your PUG doesn't suck horribly. =)

Honestly, Naxx is the easiest raid instance I've ever been in. Apart from a couple of small things like the Safety Dance or Thad's debuff, there is very little challenge to the place and it's easily pugged any given weekend.

Good luck.
