The Balance of Light and ShadowFollow

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A few days ago one of my friends dragged me into Molten Core for a quick rep clear. I and one other were the only priests in the group, so when The Eye of Divinity dropped, I slammed my fist on my mouse to roll "Need" as fast and hard as possible. Fortunately for me (I rolled a 3, IIRC), the other priest wasn't interested.

I got the item, then finished the run in a state of ecstasy. I rushed over to the Eastern Plaguelands with my Eye equipped (I stopped by Shattrath to see Ricole Nichie real quick and take some screens... lol). Soon I came upon the ghost-girl and accepted her quest. How hard could it be?

HOLYCRAPSOMANYPEASANTS!

SPAMHEALSSPAMHEALSSPAMHEALSOHGOD!

It didn't go well. I was specced shadow at the time, meaning while my heals were more than enough to get them to full, I ran out of mana like that. It didn't end well. How did you priests do it pre-BC?

I switched to my Disc off-spec and waited for little-miss-misery to respawn. This one went a LOT better. I completed the quest fairly easily, and rode off into the sunset with 2 out of the 3 pieces for the former uber staffs.

Next stop? Winterspring. I parked my main there and began killing demons for a few hours. No luck. I took many breaks to run instances and the like, but never managed to get the third piece to drop.

Today, while disenchanting greens on the AH, I wrapped up then began to hearth. Suddenly struck by a notion, I hit escape and ran back to the auctioneer. I did a quick search and... THERE! Posted in an auction for 600g (350% its price, according to my auctioneer, but who cares? :D) was the gloriously evasive Eye of Shadow. I couldn't hit "Buyout" faster.

30 seconds later, I had in my possession one of the most badass (if not completely outdated) magical sticks in the game.

Yes, it is completely useless. Yes, there are greens better than it. Yes, it was completely pointless.

But holy crap on a biscuit does that thing look badass. I've wanted that since I started my first character (a human priest back in 2005).

So you know what? I'm pretty happy right now.

I even got on Trade and announced that I had just gotten the mother of all staffs. I then proceeded to be /w'd by a Warrior asking where Benediction and Anathema dropped. He wanted it for his Warlock.

/facepalm

I took screenshots. :3

Before, during, and after creation.

Also, Ricole Nichie, only visible with the Eye of Divinity equipped.
