So my tanking DK is still progressing, about to start heading into 10 mans.

I just wanted to post and say that I currently switched from Frost to Unholy tanking and have seen my threat generation increase significantly. Yes HB was great. I loved running in and DnD HB, BB, but this strategy just started to lose its luster when I began grouping with people who outgeared me. After the initial burst I would continually be waiting for that next HB. Yes, perhaps it was me but for those of you out there that have tried frost and have run into the same problem there is a solution. Unholy tanking, gotta love it.

With Unholy I throw out DnD, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Pestilence, then 2 x Blood Strike and I have enough Runic Power to unleash Unholy Blight. All the aoe wont have a chance of pulling threat from me at this point. Also for the single target I have tons of threat with Runic Strike followed by Scourge Strikes. I have found my tanking ability increase dramatically. Needless to say I wont go back to Frost Tanking unless we hit a patch that changes things up.

If anyone cares to see my armory its in my sig below.

Cheers to all

I was a huge fan of UH until 3.1, since then though frost picked up more mitigation and personally I feel that it is better for single target threat.
At the same time ive tanked very little since 3.1 came out

Unholy tanking seems to have more constant AoE that Frost and the single target threat has never been a problem sooo...

I've had a 80 rogue(who does not have a DK)say that UH has no AoE and Frost was the only spec for tanking,i say anyspec can tank,WITH right talent points in right places. Do you agree?BTW,reason he started ranting on about it was becuase me and 2 guildies had a arguement about UH and Frost tanking,1 of the 2 was not a wimp and did not care really, the other 1 was a 66 priest, with no 80 at all, didnt have WotLK,and told his friend(who i do not blame for defending the 66 priest)tohat i was some idiot who doesnt have a DK tank that i wa saying Only UH could tank...im like WTF

There are tanks of each "deep tree" flavor and they all have their advantages and disadvantages. All three are viable tanks in current raid content.

Also: Please for the love of all that is holy, please try to communicate clearly.

As a Blood tank that's constantly complimented on the jobs I do, with wipes being a very rare thing, tell your rogue to come pay me a visit.
