Trouble engraving weponFollow

#1 Jun 10 2009 at 8:27 AM Rating: Decent
I have a wepon that i bought with my main using emblems of heroism, you know the account binding items.
Now when I try to engrave it at the runeforge i get error message saying that the wepon is too low.
Is this known to be the case with all enchants as well as engravings and if so do we think it should be fixed?
I would have thought that the wepon should be rated at the level you are at when you are using it but I am guessing the wepon is seen as a lvl 1 item as it says in tooltop 1-80.

You can only put pre-TBC enchants on BoA weapons ie enchants that don't have a level requirement so I guess it is the same with runeforging, can't be put on as it can only be used by a DK.

BoA weapons cannot be runeforged at all, so they're less useful for DKs. Should have spent the emblems on a trinket or shoulders :-/

Looking online, here is the reason:
Quote:
It is intended that these items cannot be Runeforged. As you are applying a permanent class-specific enchant to this item it would mean that the enchant would remain when transferring it to another character on the account, leading to possible exploitation.

I mean, the obvious answer would be "Well, make it only apply to DKs!" But as there currently are not any class-only enchants (note: some items that confer enchants are class only, but not the enchants themselves), it would be more work. The more obvious answer is "It would take more work to change the status quo."

Don't you have like 24hrs to be reimbursed for any badge gear you buy? Might still be able to return.

Even without an enchant the BoA axe is an excellent leveling weapon. I never once saw a better weapon available from a quest.

Runeforging your weapon is like putting those level requirement enchants that soulbound an item to you. As it's a DK only thing, it'd "soulbound" it to you, in a sense. Which is why it's not possible.
