**Disclaimer: Armory links have been ommitted as not to embarrass those involved.**

Not that there is anyway a person like this actually reads these forums

This was such complete and utter /facepalm I felt the need to share.

Naxx run this last Sunday and we have mostly a guild I run with and a few PUG to fill in the holes. One of which was another rogue. I inspected him before we started to see what kind of gear competition I had. Mix of Naxx, PvP, AH epics and Uldar boots. Looked like he was still in a combat PvP spec (mace MH, sword OH). Little to no enchants.

As the raid progresses he wins Webbed Death, a ring and a belt. Shortly after getting the dagger he whispers me to ask which poison I am using. I tell him Instant MH and Deadly OH. Here's the kicker...his reply is "you're using two?" I whisper the raid leader who has a rogue just to let him know what we have in our midst. His only reply is "..." The whole night this person has been the bottom of the meter, offline through most of the trash and really not that productive. Sure enough, he goes offline again and we dump him.

So, what kind of epic fail have you come across lately?

Some mut rogue who took so long to kill a flame leviathan turret, FL murdered everyone. He never actually killed it. We replaced him with a ret pally (i was on the other turret). The pug raid then gave him the kinetic ripper, despite me pointing out I AM COMBAT FIST SPEC. And that dude was mut. And terribad.

26/26 runs in H-GD and no ring drops. Took me 32 to get the trink to drop (and win) outta heroic nexus a while back. No /facepalming just an example of my loot failure.

Well, before I transferred my rogue from Proudmoore back to Mannoroth,I miss you Therion, I helped another female rogue in the guild increase her dps by 500. The reason why it was that low you ask? She had dual DP on her weapons instead of IP/Dp.

As for me, I can't get the fricking pants in H Gun to drop. Also, I was raiding on my mage and Sinisters Revenge dropped. I was kinda heartbroken, but I won Turning Tide.

the person in game i would descibe as a fail, is involved in the following story.

i'm in a herioc naxx pug, raid leading as the guy who started the group decided he needed to go just before we finsih putting the group together. the group is me and 2-3 guildies alot of of from the guild the guy who started the group was in and some randoms.
Nothing dropped i could use until we get to kel. I've run naxx heroic naxx every week for last 4 months on the off chance calamity would drop and this week is the first time its dropped for me. i'm the only rogue in group, so i think score. A friend of the guy who started the group starts the looting, the warning for calamity goes up and before i roll a ele shammy rolls a 70, i follow with a 56 but knowing its my mainspec i wait for loot to be passed to me. to my suprise the log shows the ele shammy recieves the weapon and i instantly ask if its been mislooted and how its my mainspec. the shammy automatically says how he was only in the run for enhance gear, i ask if he thought it might have been a good idea to tell the leader of the raid that before we started. he then says he told the masterlooter so it must of been ok. i respond that this is my mainspec and even if he was in the run for just enhance gear, it would be polite if he passed to me as its my mainspec. he says it was a fair roll and he was going to keep it weapon. i gave up and let him take it.

2 days later i see him in dalaran in his enhance spec, hes wearing a combo of crafted blues and so heroic gear, obviously hes equiped calamity and his offhand is greed(or pride which ever is the oh version). i then flip as during the naxx he passed ever piece of epic mail that dropped, even though ever peice must have been and upgrade for him.. what a C

fail rogues:

i'm in a voa25 on my hunter and i see two rogues from the same guild running mutilate builds but using double IP, they both died in novas pretty early so i didn't pay to much attention to them. plus i got my T8 gloves so i didn't care.

I hope that soon I will get bracers, chest, gloves and boots. I have my eyes on the badge boots and bracers but I am strapped for cash and or badgers right now since I bought the Death card and Mirror of Truth last night. On top of that I won Sinister's Revenge, so I had to drop 800g on Berserker for it.

Faction dailies son! Wyrmrest have a nice set of bracers, Argent Crusade has decent +hit boots, and the Ebon Hold have a tunic. Then you'll have $ to buy new Enchants!

PS WTB your OH.

Banatu, That is epic failure. I'm a big golfer myself. I normally shoot around 85ish, though. I'm not too good.

I stopped running it daily after about 8 runs, for the ring.

My only blue is the ****** ring I have. I pull almost 5k dps in 25mans and I still run H Gundrak every few days for that #$%^ing ring.

I hope that's on 9 holes because if that's on 18.. >.<

I shoot around 58, but fairways seem to elude me entirely. Always in the rough then the approach shot gets like 5 feet from the hole heh.

I am focusing right now on getting my KotEB rep up so I can get the good head enchant. Then I will start working on the other guys to get some slot upgrades. My biggest problem is that I only really get to play on Friday and Saturday, and I am usually in raid Friday night, which leaves Saturday for gaming if I am not doing something else.

As for the OH...I had a chance at Duel wielding just to say I could but I passed on it to the failure detailed in my OP.

Normally, IF I pull them any direction it is left. I've just learned how to play it. I'm 25 and have been golfing off and on since I was 14. I also took lessons when i was 14, so it isn't like I started golfing blindly.

I sink putts like my name is Tiger Woods, and that is what really carries me through a round of golf.

Haha, I'm stationed in south Texas near Corpus Christi. I play a somewhat decent course for $17 with cart, but it probably isn't as good as your course.

It gets the job done, though.

Yeah. Normal 18 holes is almost 70 bucks with a cart, but friends of staff get a wicked discount and everything is free for us.

On the subject of "Fail," I ran regular Gundrak last night. Had tweaked my rogue's mut spec.

There were three 80s, a level 78 tank, and myself (76). My dps has gotten better, and I'm slowly getting the rotation down, but it was sad to see that I was only about 200-500 dps lower than the 80s that had (obviously) much better gear than me (no greens, mix of blues and purples). Either way, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside (just sad that they're 80s and only doing as much).

Even with them, the mobs weren't going down as fast as they should have, but it's okay. It was a smooth run, and I got practice and xp. That's all that matters. Smiley: grin

Go me and my learningness!

=P nice, duchess. If you'd like to, try swapping Turn the Tables for Master Poisoner, and drop some of the sub talents for 5/5 DW spec. That alone will give you a near 10% dps increase =)

Yes...drop sleight of hand, dirty tricks, and serrated blades. Top off DWS in the combat tree, and either go precision and close quarters combat. Your dps will increase substantially.
#24 Jun 15 2009 at 4:48 AM Rating: Good
Awesome, I'll go ahead and try that out.

As for the DW and Precision, I'm working my way down that at this moment. The spec I'm using I found from EJ, mainly for raids (of course), I'm the type that usually likes to spec the way I would when I'm raiding that way I can get the practice in and whatnot. Not the best for leveling, but I'm just taking my time.

Currently the armory isn't updated, but I did get to 77 the other night. I'll go ahead and tweak it a bit more with both of your suggestions.

My dps has been getting higher which I'm happy about. Hitting just above 1k dps, but I'm still working on it.

Thomas, I'm assuming that you're suggesting the 51/13/7 spec instead of 51/7/13? I can see how that would bring up my dps, as I don't see much with things like Dirty Tricks and Slight of Hand (other than for CC and threat management), both of which aren't hard if you know what you're doing. Does the Serrated Blades stack with Sunders or no? I'll have to do research on that.

But like I said, I'll go ahead and tweak my spec a bit with going 51/13/7 and changing TtT to Master Poisoner. Would you say that the TtT is more for raiding than MP? If that's the case, I may just keep it as TtT since I'm getting closer and closer to 80. It may not be great while soloing, but if I can cut down the cost of respeccing, that'd be great.

Thanks again for your guys' help. It's greatly appreciated, as always!
