I hardly ever use it. I have tried setting up various macros but find it very hard to use. Here us my current one:

#showtooltip
/cast [target=focus,raid,nodead,nomodifier:ctrl] Intervene; [raid] Intervene; [target=targettarget,raid] Intervene

I've set up my focus target to be the healer but it doesn't always work that well... When pitbull lights up a party member in red (suggesting that they have aggro) I mouse click that player, then hit my keyboard shortcut for Intervene (though if its the focus target I just Ctrl-click the hotkey without selecting him first of course). 50% of the time the party member turns out to be too close, the other 50% it works. Not exactly ideal...

I've thought of setting up a macro for each party member next to their health bar (similar to having a focus target so I don't have to select the part member first), but not sure... So far I can regain aggro more consistently using taunt, mocking blow, or challenging shout.

You guys use it actively? How?

Kind of a sloppy macro but that's ok. You have to start somewhere.

Should Intervene current target with no modifier, focus with ctrl and target's target with shift.

In the OP's macro the 2 Intervenes with without targetting info are confusing each other, also unless it is a typo the nomod:ctrl is unlikely to be very effective.

Setting a macro for every raid member is also very inefficient. You have only so many macro slots and I am going to assume you have some other macros for various attacks and cooldowns, doing one per person will kill all your slots.

Good luck.

Not just for Intervene, but I use the following Warbringer Macro. On an enemy it will first cast Charge, then cast Intercept. With an enemy targeting someone else it will cast Intervene (I think if Intercept is on CD) or if you target a player will Intervene to them. Nice for flying around the battlefield like a madman in the few situations you need to.

/castsequence reset=15 Charge, Intercept
/cast [help] Intervene; [target=targettarget, help] Intervene;

While I realize it's not a "pure" Intervene macro, my use of Intervene probably went up 500% after I started to use it.

Full disclosure, I did not make up this macro, I found it on Tanking Tips blog.
