We are currently progressing nicely thru Ulduar and I have noticed that our guild MM hunter is doing great dps, matching and beating us SV hunters on most fights.
Having never played MM I would be interested to know if any of the experts feel that MM is better suited to these movement intensive fights? (or should i just L2P my class a little better.)

It's not movement, MM simply overtakes SV in dps when you're in half or more ulduar gear.
I didnt realise that Aethien, however none of the guild hunters have got any significant drops as yet.

I'm playing as 7/57/7 now (having been 0/15/56 until two weeks ago), and it doesn't have any particular advantage over Surv in movement fights. Possibly a small disadvantage - anecdotally it seems like a higher portion of my damage comes from Auto/Steady as Marks (24% and 9%ish respectively looking at a WWS from last week, but I don't have an older one with me as Surv to compare). And in full BIS Marks only edges out Surv by about 11 DPS, so it's not a baked-in spec advantage. One thing I did notice is that it took a bit of concentration to time out ExSes during LnL procs while moving, could lose a little DPS there.
