And his int buffs just ran out.

This is what he said about frost traps.

Partially what we wanted to do was make sure it wasn't "wasted" on an immune target. It's hard to figure out the ideal solution here -- it seems like sometimes you'd want to trigger it anyway and sometimes you'd want to save it. I'm assuming you'd never want Freezing Trap to active on an immune target, so there's a consistency issue too.

Reverting it back to always going off on immune targets and just not affecting that target certainly isn't off the table.

Lets break it down.
* Traps fizzling on an immune target makes them not wasted, and if they did trigger they would be wasted because the target is immune.
* Sometimes you'd want to trigger the trap and get LnL and sometimes you don't. (mind giving me an example of when I don't want LnL and a slick of ice to kite around?)
* And there's consistency... because Blizzard is oh so mindful of consistency....

Can you refresh me on how frost traps work with immune targets now?

Last I can remember they'd just vanish, with no effect--what he's saying would really only make sense if the traps are not triggered in any way at all including not vanishing if a boss runs over them.

If a trap is triggered by an immune target it just goes away. There is no aura on the ground. There used to be an aura, the person would just be immune to it. This change was made by all accounts to stop trap dancing, I don't really see any other reason.

The problem is in arena's where frost traps become less useful. I think my preference would be to have the traps simply sit there and not trigger if the person is immune, but I can see the problems with this as well.

Given black arrow, and sniper training I really don't think people would start trap dancing again, and so they could revert the change if they felt like it.
