Lets break it down.
* Traps fizzling on an immune target makes them not wasted, and if they did trigger they would be wasted because the target is immune.
* Sometimes you'd want to trigger the trap and get LnL and sometimes you don't. (mind giving me an example of when I don't want LnL and a slick of ice to kite around?)
* And there's consistency... because Blizzard is oh so mindful of consistency....
