Okay, after doing a heroic with my Ret Paladin (please bear with me, yesterday's UK was my first heroic with a Ret setup, or even DPS of any kind), a couple people there I did pretty well. Recount says I was consistently doing 2500-2800 DPS. 2800 on a fight with adds like Keleseth, and more like 2500 or so on something without so many adds (the two guys and Ingvar).

That's my character, I realize the talents are probably not quite right, I just threw that together as I was in a hurry the day before yesterday, and tweaks will be made as they are suggested. I just mainly wanted a yay/nay as if I was heading in the right direction and a good indication of where I stand as far as if I'm ready for just about any heroic, or easier ones only, or if I'm nearing Naxx10 or what-not.

Any suggestions/etc appreciated!

that is my armory for ret spec Pve style

I noticed you took alot of tank like talents. when i speced for PVE i figured that I would have a tank with me if I dps...granted my main spec is prot. only spent 10 points as ret in the prot tree. str is nice and the healing from divinity is really nice, it makes using seal of the matyr alot easier to justify using. and when needed judgement of light. I took 3rd place once for healing on lotheb :P the Crusade and eye for an eye talents are rather useful as wellsomething if it actually hits you will take damage as well and most of what you fight is humanoid, demon, or dragon so 3 percent to hit them easier and to do damage to them is rather nice. All in all it comes down to personal preference

2500 HC DPS is not bad for your gear level, and with 10-man raid buffs you'll be closer to 3k in Naxx, which is speed clear territory.

That said, I'd drop the tanking talents (Deflection and Anticipation). Benediction will help your mana efficiency a bit, and I'd consider using the Prot points in getting to Divine Guardian. That gives you a lot of raid utility - a bubble/sacrifice every few minutes, and a more powerful (sheath-powered) sacred shield that you can use on yourself to compensate for emo Martyr damage. That will also allow you to comfortably use Martyr when soloing, so you can drop Command for a point in Crusade or Avenging Wrath.

But that's mostly minmaxing - you have the core damage dealing talents already, and your DPS shows it.

You're definitely headed in the right direction. Here are some talent tips:

You should have gotten benediction over parry in the first tier.

You skipped crusade, which is a 3% in all situation, and 6% in most situations damage boost, some of those protection talents are unnecessary.

And while most of the protection talents are mostly optional, as you should have points left over, going down to get Divine Guardian is probably the best investment of those points, as it gives you a nice buff for huge AoE damage moments, and the bonus to Sacred Shield is much appreciated.

This is the recommended talent build from EJ. It gets rid of Seal of Command as it has an extremely limited role/usefullness in the current build.

Also, you need to start getting glyphs in your slots there. I dont know if the armory just isn't showing them, but the Judgement and Exorcism glyphs are really great for maximizing your dps. And at your current level, I would recommend the Seal of Blood glyph to help with mana, and getting the Consecration glyph once you are almost exclusively raiding.

As for your stats you seem to be focusing on strength and you are more than hit capped (remember hit cap is 8%, 7% with a dranei in your party, which I imagine is more often than not at least in a raid)

One replacement for your gear that you can easily get is the Cloak of Bloodied Waters which is a BoE drop from Gundrak (sells for ~100g).

For other weapon/gear upgrades, I tend to use Maxdps.com which is a great site for getting the best gear tailored for your spec and character and helps you in choosing new gear.

I understand you just got those legs from H UK. Grats I just got them today too. But now that you have those legs, you have too much hit rating. 263 is cap anymore is practically wasted. Other than that there are a few tweaks to your PvE build. Without looking at the recommended from EJ i'd say this will leave you with 6 free points to spend where you want the important talents are covered.

As above, you're way over hit cap. Secondly don't gem for crit, gem for strength.

Oh and get the Venture Co. Libram of Retribution, which is an easy win.

Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, I knew that Talent spec was just something I threw together as I stated in my OP.

I knew that I was way over the cap on hit rating, wasn't sure what exactly to change (I know I could probably put STR to gloves or something like that).

I've been checking the AH for the Cloak, no dice there yet (I check daily).

*blinks* GAH! Glyphs.... yeah, right. I don't know how I forgot about the glyphs, haha. I'll pick those up ASAP. Thanks for reminding me.
