Shadow vs Holy gearFollow

When I'm looking for gear for my Priest (dual spec) what are the stats that I should look for when it comes to healing and shadow? Is the gear basically the same except for +healing for Holy and + Damage/Crit for Shadow?
Any other tips are greatly appreciated!

Don't forget about +Hit as shadow if you plan on raiding. I believe 289 is the magic number if you take 3/3 Shadow Focus and 3/3 Misery, which you should, since both are good talents.

There's no such thing as separate healing/damage anymore. It's all spellpower and it's all good. :)

For healing, Int, Spirit, and Crit are also priorities, roughly in that order, with some tweaking depending on Disc or Holy spec. My opinion is that haste is nice when it comes with the other stuff, but I personally never went out of my way for it.

Correct, 289 is what we need to be hit capped... unless you have the Heroic Presence Draenai Racial Buff, then you only need 263.

Shadow priority is Hit (till Capped)(1.71)> SP (1) > Crit (~.45) > Haste (~.4) > Int/Spirit (.2)

The numbers are approximate weights when looking at gear (i.e. 1 spellpower is worth about 2 crit or Haste)

Holy I know nothing about, my healing spec is disc, and is somewhat neglected...

The new numbers from Shadowpriest.com are

* 1 spellpower = 1 PP
* 1 intellect = 0.21 PP
* 1 spirit = 0.21 PP
* 1 spellcrit = 0.71 PP
* 1 spellhaste = 0.65 PP
* 1 spellhit = 1.31 PP (when not hitcapped)

Basically, get yourself hit capped. After that, SP is pound for pound your best stat to stack. Haste and crit are about the same, but stop haste at 328 (soft-cap). That allows you to get two MF's in between a MB (fully talented, but why wouldn't you be). You need like 800 haste to get three MF's in, so it is not worth trying.

As far a Healing gear. You need no hit. Again, pound for pound, SP is your best stat. But, you want to run about 25% unbuffed crit. Having 2200sp and lotsa crit >>> 2400sp with crappy crit. You also need to have spirit on your gear. Choose gear with spirit over Mp5 gear when you have a choice. You should be over 1000 spirit when raid buffed. Never make Int a decision in gear choice UNLESS it is the only differing factor. For example, Darkmoon Card: Greatness (Int) is worth little for Holy Priest. Darkmoon Card: Spirit is a good choice.
