What do you think of ulduar generally? I really like the design and how in certain places trash are a little like mini-bosses. I realized after we had moved on to take a look at iron council for the first time that the walking statues we were fighting in the hallway had more hp than onyxia, each.

My main is ret, and my rogue buddy is starting to really overtake me in ulduar. I saw him spike at 7.8k during one point in the iron council fight while blowing Ad. rush and standing in a power rune. He actually ripped aggro off our rather undergeared offtank. I don't mind so much, seeing as all the ret utility is put to good use in that raid( for example while the rogue is giggling on vent and blowing things up, i'm spamming a cleanse macro on the tank and divine guarian-ing raid damage to managable levels). Really enjoying ulduar at the moment. Working on mimiron 10-man.

I'm not in our 10 man but I am in our 25 man...and man, it's fun again! I wasn't geared enough back in the day to raid BT, and had some issues last year that kept me from raiding Naxx25 for the first couple months...but I'm happy to be a part of our guilds 25 in new content. We aren't one shotting everything, which is cool (even though 150g repair bills aren't), and it's fun to learn the fights from the ground up.


Therion - what trash pulls are you using FOK on? The 6-pulls before the assembly?

Um, all of them pretty much. Most of the trash has been nerfed into the ground and for the most part it's lol@cc. You can chain-pull and AoE a lot of the stuff. There were a few points that you could tip over 10k for a second or two which is always neat-o (pulling extra Jormongers with the pats before wHordir for example).

Exceptions that spring to mind are generals' trash (1 or 2 short sheeps there) and the occasional banish on the way to council/kologarn.

All in all I like Ulduar but the continuing nerfs are bugging me a wee bit. The easier the instance, the shorter its fun lifespan. Naxx was nostalgic and interesting for about a week (ok, maybe two) then it was just a loot piñata. I'm hoping Ulduar lasts us about as long as SSC/TK did, not counting the two jerks. So far hard modes are living up to the moniker and we're working on them now which is pretty fun, if costly.

I find the first few bosses = easy/medium, Keepers/General = semi hard/challenging
and then Yogg Saron is like running face-first into a brick wall.

My guild is progressing nicely through the new content, which is a welcome change from /headdesking all of BC.

I have seen some nice purpz and I have also witnessed no other class touching me in DPS. I don't know if it is my recent switch to mutilate with a new 179 DPS dagger or what but man is it nice.
