Gear/Build checkFollow

Ive been an unholy/blood hybrid build for a while(http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#jfVMmZZfM0Ixcdxcq0csut:qrbVM0) and liked it, but its DPS seems to pale in comparison to the numbers Ive seen here. I have (in my opinion) good gear, and 4k more dps can't be caused by some Ulduar gear. Is there a better build for my gear( Armory down at time of post, look up Lichbourne on the Draka server)?

Meh, I still think the 0/10/61 is a better unholy spec, but I guess it's still up for debate.

If you really want to min/max, remove relative terms from your line of questioning: "seems to", "something like", "sort of", etc are not really useful. So is "what I like". You need to be specific and quantitative.

Armory's down right now, do you have a WWS (or similar) parse? Are you in Naxx or Ulduar? 10s or 25s? Do you know specifically where you're having issues? Generally? Not at all? Are you confident in your knowledge of class mechanics, rotations, optimizing up-time on target, etc?

Comparing your numbers to someone elses' is tricky business. Unless you are both in the same gear, in the same encounter, with the same raid make up and buffs, you need to counterweight the comparison to adjust for these differences. Also be careful about scaling. What's "best" at 2t7 gear is not a priori what's "best" at 4t8.5. Oh, and be sure to watch which fight people are claiming huge numbers for. I see anywhere from >4k to ~8k depending on which fight we're talking about and my luck. It's really not fair to compare DPS from Razorscale to XT to Vesax for example.

As to the Unholy debate, 0/10/61 is starting to wane a bit in popularity from what I'm seeing in recent discussions. Personally I had better results with 7/10/54 when comparing 2-hand Unholy builds but the sample size wasn't very large (3 standard 5 min tests on the boss dummy and comparative heroic encounters). Could be that it shines in 25s more than I accounted for.

Maybe it is just me, but I feel like, at least, the 4% crit can be better used elsewhere. Like Morbidity for 15% more on DCs (which you should be able to do every rotation, at least, minus your UB one which is 30 seconds glyphed. Dirge means an extra 10-15 RP per rotation, too.

I would get rid of the PS glyph ASAP. 20% additional weapon damage every 20 seconds, basically, if your SS DOESN'T proc. It is a horrible glyph combined with that one, imo. I'd grab UB, Dark Death or Bone Shield. The UB one is the greatest boost, damage to RP wise. It increases the effectiveness of the ability by 33%. However, its DpS comes in the form of, what is basically, 33% more DCs. I would suggest one of those two. Do you keep UB up on STs? That one may be better. If not, you can just go for Dark Death.

Take BS if you constantly find yourself taking enough AoE damage that it goes down. But, only if your BS lasting 33% longer at a 2% DpS increase is better than the other two, unless you just take it for utility.

Until the armory is back up, try telling us about your gear. Are you hit capped? Are you dodge-expertise capped? What is your crit without talents? Do you know your approx. AP?
