How did I not notice this before?Follow

So it's always seemed a little strange that some of my rep grinds with my DK were easier than with my mains...DK is revered with all the Steamwheedle Cartel factions while main is only honored, despite having done all the same quests. Timbermaw seemed like it didn't take as long and whatnot. I had assumed that the rep gains for some of the quests I did had been adjusted in the 3+ years since my main did them.

But now that my DK is of a level to do the same sorts of quests my main is doing, I am noticing that my DK is earning 10% more rep per quest turn-in. I haven't noticed if per-kill rep is higher, but rep for questing is definitely 10% higher. quests that normally give 150 are giving 165, 250 is giving 275, 350 is giving 385.

Am I just slow on the uptake here or is this weird?

are you a human? And they fixed it where all mobs that give rep, give full rep now regardless of lvl. So yes it's easier to get rep now.

This reminds me of when I was confused as to why my priest had some expertise.

I think the answer is the same.

We're dumb.

Yeah, my DK is human, while my main is Nelf. Maybe that's it. Definitely not a level issue, since its the same regardless of current level or low level rep gains.

It isn't a question of maybe...

How have you played the game this long and still not learned what the racials are?

People ALWAYS mention increased rep gain with Humans...

You know, I just never noticed. I knew there was a racial for sword skill with humans, I just never noticed there was a rep one before.

Now I feel silly Smiley: blush. I had been thinking it was some DK-related thing, possibly to compensate for the fact that DKs miss out on the early quests (unless they go back and do them) where the major rep gains are made.

Don't feel too silly. Some of the posters in this thread have made equally "interesting" errors =P

everyones had their "....oh" moments in life. my first one was learning that you could hibernate a druid in any of their animal forms. i mean, they count as beasts, so it would seem obvious, its just not one of those things that most people put together.

i have a friend who doesnt look at loot. at all. its quite funny, because this means anytime theres a quest item thats looted (i.e. the keristrasza line in coldarra, or the continuation of sons of hodir in storm peaks) he just doesn't get it. he'll moan and complain and site how all the web sites hes been too havent been of any help and then ill go on wowhead and trace things and say "have you picked up [quest item] at some point in time and you just missed it?"

of course, he has picked up said quest item, and he did indeed just miss it. this leads to much hilarity in guild chat at his expense. hes stopped asking me my opinions on talent specs cause i keep telling him to spec into whatever will help him notice obvious things.

Also, they doubled rep gains in a lot(if not all) old factions.

I got Revered with Timbermaw in 1 hour. I went from Friendly->Honored with Thorium Brotherhood in 1/3rd the item turn ins the guides say.

Being a human + buff to rep = awesome. Nothing like seeing 1540rep per quest lol.

Wow. Way to repay giving information. I see this site still follows the typical rules. "Don't help." Good to know.

I rated your first post back up.

Then rated the second one down.

I rated you up just because I didn't see any reason for you to have been rated down.

Then I realized you're the same chowder-head who's so totally full of fail on the DE topic over in the tradeskill forum, and regretted it.
