I made a Druid alt who is now 25. I love the different forms and the versitility. But, and it's a BIG but, whenever I get an add during a fight I usually die. I try to only pull one mob at a time, but adds often come along anyway. So I die a lot. Does this get better as I level or will it always be a problem? Switching to bear only prolongs the time of my death. I might suck and not yet know how to play the class. Any advice would be appreciated.

I remember having that issue around your level.

My solution was to be thankful I was a Night Elf for the faster corpse run.

It gets better around level 30, the 20s suck bad.

It's easier now with roots/NG working indoors. If you get an add on you, pop NG and wait for it to root one of them...then move the other one away and deal with it on its own. Ideally you'll be able to get it most if not all the way dead before roots breaks...heal as best you can (bandages are good for this, don't think you don't need First Aid just because you can self heal!) and then take on the other one.

What spec are you? If you're feral, shift to bear form and tough it out. Actually, you might want to do that as Balance too, until you get crit-chicken form at 40. Hit swipe like crazy and use Maul for extra damage when you have a lot of Rage.

No. There is a 50% chance that he cannot.

if you get an add the first thing you should do is shift out of whatever form youre in, regrowth yourself, rejuv yourself, and then pop into bear form.

with a combo of those two HoT's on you (heal over time spells) as well as the high armor of bear form you should be able to wear at least one of those mobs down before you need to heal again. chances are youll get both, and if not youll get one for sure then can shift out, heal a bit more (just regrowth this time) and then go cat form to finish off the second.

as a caveat to this, i am a VERY FIRM believer that all leveling druids, regardless of spec, need to ahve 2-4 pieces of gear dedicated in some way to int. either "of the owl" (int/spr), "of the eagle" (int/stam) or even "of the gorilla" (int/str), the fact is a leveling druid lives and dies by their mana, and even with all your points into feral your heals still do a decent amount, more than enough to overcome 2-3 mobs with the aid of bear form.

hence, it behooves you, tauren or otherwise, to have about 20-25% of your stats from items dedicated to int (hence 2-4 items, 2 being if you had 2 "of intelligence" items) to help keep your mana pool filled up. its honestly one of the best decisions you can make as a leveling druid.

secondly, if youre leveling as feral, invest in the rake glyph; making it so things dont run when they get low ups your survivability immensely as a class that has very little in the way of tools to stop runners (curse you feral charge for being accessed at level 30 now!).

I remember when you couldn't root indoors...

...or when you had to talent Nature's Grasp.

Leveling druids have it too easy these days, I used to walk to my corpse uphill... BOTH WAYS!

or when we didnt have a DD finisher in cat form.

or when innervate was talented.

or when we had to spend 15 talet points to get the same bonuses we now spend 7 for (and ferals still ***** about talent "bloat". ill show you bloat ***************

or when nothing DPS-based scaled with AP (but the tank stuff did! threat included).

or when we had a deep-balance talent that increased damage with weapons by 10%. no it didnt work in feral forms (why would you even be in a feral form as deep balance anyway?!)

or when hurricane was the ultimate balnce talent. and it was fire-and-forget with a one minute CD. and it stacked with other hurricanes so you could get -100% attack speed on targets with five deep balance druids.

i could go on. suffice it to say i have no sympathy for any druid who cries about how difficult it is to be a druid nowadays.
