I was contemplating putting this in the main forum, but I decided not too. This is more druidly in relation, and since I like to tell stories I'll give you a little backstory!

So, when wrath launched my raiding schedule became a little hampered with the onset of more work, brand new girlfriend (7 months and rolling ********* and my second job (which i don't have anymore since I quit bahahah). I was the freshly switched resto to boomkin druid for our 25 mans when 3.0 hit since my dps was actually meaningful beyond bringing a 5% crit buff.

Well, our gm thought we needed to maximize our dps for naxx, eoe and OS. Having a boomkin around that can raid more than once or twice a week than Arex would be awesome flat buff all the time. I was a little edgy about this decision considering I didn't want to fight for my gear and didn't think anyone could perform as good as myself in our raids as a boomkin.

Well we had recently absorbed a small guild of friends who had recently transfered servers and they were all Hand of Adal, MH/BT experienced. Along with this group came a feral druid, whom had been asked to go boomkin to replace me in times where I wasn't able to attend for raiding.

Right away, he was clueless. So I began to work with him, show him things, tell him things. We worked on specs, rotations, he read and read and read guide after guide and he became a very very competent boomkin. This eventually led him to become an officer for us, and a damn good officer he is.

Well, due to raiding schedules and work, both him and I were able usually be there every other day. So the buff was there for the raid usually.

Lets come to present day now.

A guild who had used the free transfer system to ysondre was falling apart. We looked at this as a golden ticket. Pick up the few good people for our raids and diversify ourselves when it comes to core raiders. We pick up another boomkin. I think, well ok, this kid has better gear than me. (Just an fyi, when I get to actually dps in ulduar instead of heal. I'm pretty ******* competative when it comes to dps/damage) I think, he's gonna out dps me.

I was wrong, he was decent but nothing special usually 11-8 on the damage charts. I'm generally a 3-6 person for damage done and hover at a respectable 4500 average dps through out ulduar. The more I raid with this other boomkin I start to realize this kid is a complete windowlicker. His ego is about the size of my bear forms ***, he literally thinks he's "All that, and a bag of potato chips" (props to those who get the reference)

He proved this even more one day on vent.

Our old gm, kind of an *******, but he was still an awesome guy. He had gotten a new mic and was saying hi to everybody. This boomkin decides to start mouthing off to our old gm about his mic, and how he was a bad player. Our gm quit before he had even transfered to our server. I inform him that yes, this is our old gm, so please don't be a ******.

Fast forward to last night. Raiding Ulduar, he's not in the raid or online. Which is weird because he usually is. My gm tells me, "Hey, arex we got this person who is friends ranked coming with us to play boomkin can you please go resto, can you help them out a little bit" I happily agree since my gm and I have been raiding together for ages.

I start talking with this new boomkin, a girl, very nice and very eager to learn how to be the best player she can be. I start wondering where is the other boomkin at? So I ask.

"He gquit."

Come to find out, he had called us all scrubs and said we're terrible raiders. Personally I don't think 9/14 in 25 man ulduar is too scrubish imo.

So I think to myself hmmm, this kid who has been actually beaten on the damage meters in ulduar by our pally mt called me a scrub? What a tool. At this thought I began to lawl, and oh how it made me lawl.

people like that make me lawl too.

back before they fixed it, my friends and i would abuse summoning stone positioning to make people like that spend an inordinate amount of time doing a corspe run. it was pretty hilarious. sadly, such recourse is unavailable now. my ignore list grows ever larger :(

Nice. I like when people with really good gear talk smack about how much DPS they can do, then I proceed to totally thrash them on decent cat fights. With the new Feral (not really a) rotation, if you get it, you can put up some sick numbers. If you don't, everyone can tell you're a windowlicker.

On mostly unrelated note, my new favorite fight is Loatheb, +50% crit and 0 threat is hawt. Heigan sucks, I'm reduced to Mangle spam because the tank leaves Heigan mostly in the acid splash zones. No Shred makes for a sad kitty.

Arex my respect from you constantly continues to grow! I love how willing you are to help out other druids and how you are willing to do what's best for your guild. As for the bad druid, I generally just let those guys be. He obviously has personal problems and your guild is better off without those type of people, as they can affect the overall mood/morale of the guild.

Heh

Maybe there is a brain virus making moar 'special' people than normal.

I too ran into one of these clowns last week.

A new member was invited to the guild and the usual "welcome!"s start flying. He quickly jumps into a Heroic run and I go about my business.

45 min later I see the notification that this guy has left the guild. Apparently (I did not have the misfortune to witness this 1st hand...Thank the Gods) he joined a H AN run and said he would tank. He was unable to hold aggro very well or for very long and caused multiple wipes in a matter of minutes (again..this is what I am told, but judging by the mood of the other 4 party members after...I don't doubt it).

When he was asked if he was having trouble due to gear/aggro (I am told in a polite/helpful tone), he says something about the Healer (who is in Regular Uladar 10/25 runs AS healer) needing to learn to do their <inset curse of choice here> job and calls the rest of the members a few equally inventive names. He promptly \Gquit after that (total time in guild < 1 hour).

Negatives: 4 Guild members wasted time on a waste of space
Positives: Said waste of space is no longer associated with our guild

I saw the same guy spamming trade yesterday for a EOE group...I feel bad for anyone who ended up on that run.

EDIT: Spelling

Running around on my Ret pally today reminded me of another LOL moment in a PuG. Joined a Kara pug near the end of TBC and we were getting organized in the entry room. I ask to be put in the group with the Retadin so he ges my 5% crit and I get whatever buffs Ret had at the time. Priest says no, I need to be in the Ret group. I need Sanctity aura for my DPS.

Blink.

Blink.

So I examine the priest, she's DPS Holy spec. Yeah, LOLSmite spec. And to make it worse, she actually went pretty deep into Discipline, but didn't bother to get Power Infusion.

I asked her about her spec and she got all huffy, apparently she didn't like to be criticized for trying to be a unique flower. I dropped the raid rather than listen to her all night try and justify her bad DPS. The RL whispered me a little later, apparently he wrongly assumed that a DPS priest was Shadow.
