How important is mp5 for a mage? Are there any more mana regen skills (i.e. evocation, divine plea for paladins) that are learned at a higher level?
MP5 isn't important for a mage.
Nope, mages pretty much just have evocation and mana gems. If gear has mp5 but it has really good +sp or crit then by all means wear it (as long as you aren't taking it from a healer of course), but don't gear for it.
