I was just wandering how long the replenishment buff lasts?

Also, does the fact that it procs everytime we deal damage from mind blast make it more usefull than a paladins replenishment buff (i cant remember what happens to make theirs proc)

It lasts 15 seconds.

15 seconds * .25% mana / second = 3.75% of your mana over 15 seconds.

It grants the exact same buff as the Ret pally's.

We can cast our Mind Blast every ~6 seconds with talents, which is similar to how often a pally can judge. Hence, there's really no difference between our way of granting replenishment and a Ret pally's.

Basically, it's not going down. As long as you're doing your job, Replenishment is up.

This is the same for all the other classes that grant the buff (Frost Mage, Destruction Warlock and Survival Hunter).

I haven't played priest much since Wrath, so bear with me. How does the new replenishment buff compare to the way VT used to work, with the mana given back being based on shadow damage done?

It isn't better or worse than the old VT per se. Instead of the mana return being based on the amount of damage you do, and thus scaling with your damage, it scales with the recipient's mana pool. This is nice in some ways in that it doesn't matter how much damage your priest is doing, only that they have VT up and hit a mind blast. This is nice on movement based fights where the priest can't stand still for long. Since there are a lot more of these fights these days I kind of consider the change a buff.

2nd this.

Just hit 50 few days ago and picked this baby up, the difference it makes is unbelievable. Having the replenishment buff and spirit tap up at all times = 100% mana while questing.

I thought the hunter's replenishment was based on their crits from Arcane, Steady and Explosive shot. If you get really unlucky for 16 seconds, couldn't it run out?

Hunting Party

Edit: I phail at linky thingy.

I highly doubt a SV hunter with a million percent crit is going to get no crits in 16 seconds. You never know though.

Replenishment normally provides as much mana as Rapture for me in a boss fight. It is one of those utilities that you expect to have in a group and will miss it if it is not present.

We were doing Thorim on 10-man Ulduar with just a hunter in the group for Replenishment. When he went in the tunnel and I stayed in the Arena, I ran low on mana. On our subsequent try, the hunter stayed out on the floor and the Replenishment made quite a difference.
