I recently joined a new guild so I could get back into raiding again. I have been PUGing for a while but a couple weeks ago a friend of mine joined a guild that was casual enough to fit my schedule. After a day or so he said everyone was nice and helpful so I signed up.

On Wednesday we took our first trip into Naxx25. I didn't know at the time but it was their first attempt at a 25 man raid. They have a solid 10 man core but beyond that I was not sure of the level of skill included.

Everything was going well until we had to dance. After the first couple wipes we noticed only 1 of our healers was actually decursing. That along with people not knowing the dance made for a rough night. After about 6 attempts we downed him. Then came Loatheb.

This is where I really noticed our healers were lacking. As I mentioned I have been in Naxx PUGs a few times before and I never wiped on this boss... Our first attempt went horribly. The healers just couldn't keep anyone up. I understand they only have 3 seconds to heal but even PUGs seemed to be able to handle it.. Following a couple more wipes and calling it a night I decided to drop my off spec (feral) and pick up resto to see if I can help out any.

TL:DR
I just switched my off spec to Resto and have a couple quesitons.
My Armory : http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Laughing+Skull&n=Chronny

I know that Hit is not needed as a resto but this is the best gear I have for resto at the moment.
Are there any pieces of gear in heroics I can pick up that might be better than the pieces I have?
I looked at the pre raid gear list but it seems to me that the pieces I have might be better.
Today I am going to run a quick heroic to get 2 more badges to pick up the healing trinket form Heroism badges.

Also, could someone explain resto stat preference. From what I have read it seems SP>INT>SPIRIT>starts to get confusing...
In the few heroics I have had mana has not been an issue but I am worried about going OOM as I am not sure where my MP5 should be at.

This is how I heal from my limited experience..
Tank - always have Rejuv and Regrowth up and cast nourish as needed.
Everyone else - throw out rejuvs is someone it taking a little damage. If it is more than that can handle cast regrowth. And always cast WG as CD is up.

I read in a different thread that Nourish might be the better way to go instead of casting Regrowth?

Basically any info anyone could give me would be appreciated. I didn't mean to make this thread so long and hopefully it isn't to confusing.

As far as the Loatheb fight goes, what classes were the healers? Druids & Priests really shine in this fights. Shammys are OK and Pallys are pretty bad. I cast Lifebloom on 2 people so that it will bloom during the window then hit Wild Growth as the healing window opens.

Also, if DPS is lacking due to gear or poor group rotations picking up the spore buff then it can get pretty nasty towards the end of the fight. We have our main tank or raid leader call out group numbers as each spore pops up. The only hard bit then is covincing the idiots to wait a few seconds till the whole group is there before they kill the spore.

For gear, you might like to look at :-

[wowitem=37149]Helm of Anomalus[/wowitem] - The Nexus - Anomalus
[wowitem=43495]Earthgiving Legguards[/wowitem] - Crafted
[wowitem=37169]War Mace of Unrequited Love[/wowitem] - The Nexus - Keristrasza
[wowitem=40699]Handbook of Obscure Remedies[/wowitem] - Emblem of Heroism x 25

Also, here is a lootrank I use for my resto set. The stat weightings are some I came up with and may or may not be perfect :)

My healing strat is pretty similar to yours, although I do tend to use Lifebloom a bit on the tank as well (still trying to work out how to use it properly now). Also, I use nourish, RG on raid more than rejuv now, as I found my rejuv targets were often being healed by other healers before the first tick goes off.

As far as the RG/Nourish, for raid heals I tend to use nourish in most situations as it is a bit faster to cast. On fights with a fair bit of raid damage (like Sapphiron) i'd use RG instead. For tank heals, I will keep RG up and ticking and use Nourish as my direct heal.
