My lock is 65 now, affliciton to 51/haunt the rest going into demonology.

I did the quest to get the infernal some time ago and have the Summon Infernal spell. But it says it requires an Infernal Stone to summon. How do I go about getting an infernal stone?

Infernal doesn't seem the most terribly useful minion for a solo-levelling warlock but could be at least situationally handy. And I'd at least like to try it out =)

Any Reagent Vendor should carry them as well as Demonic Figurine you need to summon the Doomguard.

Summon Infernal is a useless spell as the Infernal only lasts one minute. I spent a long time doing the quests but it's BS. Stick to what you're good at, Infernal is crap.

The infernal is a great pet, but it's very situational. You ever have an add run away and bring back tons of friends? Drop an infernal, not only does it aoe stun when it lands it causes aoe fire damage to all enemies near it, but for the minute he's there protecting your *** he also puts out a higher dps than any other minion. Drop him when your overwhelmed with mobs, drop him on the flag carrier(seems many people tend to run away from him), or use him to help burn down that last bit of a bosses health during an enrage. The Infernal is a very good minion, but one you won't use much.

A reagent vendor? I never would have even thought of that so thank you.

And yes, as I said it doesn't seem like something that would be useful frequently but might be a good panic button or something. And if nothing else, I'd like to at least try it =)

It's more than just a panic button.

Do a Voidwalker Sacrifice then drop an Infernal in any of the situations ccbutch mentioned or just fighting some of the Elite MOB's in Outland. It's amazing what you can take down in sixty seconds.

I've got an 80 lock and never summoned or even seen an infernal summoned in WoW, until I threw one out the other day. I had some group quests in Icecrown and my felguard got killed pretty quick vs the elite mob for the quest. I threw out the infernal and it lasted the entire battle and then some. It also barely got hurt.

Infernal useless? No.

Hardly.

The Summon Infernal is very useful in many situations. It's DPS is better than the imp or Succy. I use them constantly during raids as well as the Doomguard. They may only last 1 minute but their DPS is worth it. I use them any time my pet dies during a boss fight (which is more often than you would think on some bosses.

I can't speak for PVP but their stun can be useful if dropped on a group of enemies.

I didn't use it to too much while leveling but it did have its uses. The saccing of Void then dropping the Infernal is great when soloing some elites.
