What Glyphs should I be looking for my PvE build?

I currently have Judgement, Exorcism and Command. But ive stopped using Seal of Command so it needs replaced and I decided to see what other Glyphs I should be looking for.
Major and Minor if you please. =)

... everything I have read says Martyr is most dps, the recoil damage isnt an issue, why would I change?

And if the FAQ had a glyph list I couldnt find it btw.

Judgement and Exorcism get a big thumbs up from me

Glyph of consecrate isn't a bad 3rd choice. It pushes consecrate duration and cooldown to 10 seconds which saves a lot of mana (you cast it less with the same effect) and cleans up the rotation a lot, i.e, you can fit in more crusader strikes and judgements with less cooldowns clashing. Seal of Command is deader than dead for PvE, Tsuvati be trollin'
#5REDACTED, Posted: May 07 2009 at 4:10 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Can't see Martyr winning, at all. You said PvE, not raiding or Instances so you will be solo. You spam stuns every time they are up and drop a Seal. The 100% crit, which gives you instance FoL not only does great on mobs, it keeps you alive.

Player V Environment, surely that is the definition of a raid? When I implied that I dumped Command for Martyr because I wanted top dps I thought you would gather from that my wish for a raid spec.

If you want mediocre survivability and only trash mob killing, go Martyr. But you will not do well on tougher elites without Command, which is the majority of NR that I've seen.

No. If he had said "to solo" he would have meant "to solo." PvE play is generally thought of to be raiding, like PvP is thought of to arenas. Just because PvE encompasses solo, instances, and raiding; or PvP encompasses world, BG, and arenas; does not mean the definition is changed.

If you're a PvEer, 90% of the time you'll mean raiding, and the other 10% mean instances.
If you're a PvPer, 75% of the time you'll mean Arenas, and the other 25% don't really PvP :-P

Let me lead with the fact that I'm Main Spec Prot, Off-spec Ret... So take this with a grain of salt.

I think the Devine Storm sounds very helpful. It will increase you healing by like 15%. This isn't a Damage buff, but it is a very helpful addition I think.

I don't know - how much that gains from the Libram of Discord (Drops from 25m Razorscale) - maybe someone could know...

Other than that - I think you go with Consecrate - again, I don't think it does much to INCREASE damage, but it might make CD management easier...

I currently use for PvE - Exorcism, Judgement, Seal of Blood(Martyr)

Reasoning for each:
Exorcism, with it's use on all mobs, auto-crit on undead, and buffs in the ret tree makes it a nice addition to the Retribution damage rotation. Increasing this by 20% is a nice damage increase.

Judgement is used every 8 seconds (7 with T7 4-piece bonus) 10% more damage to that is again a good damage increase.

After that, there isn't really any other glyphs that add damage, so the best glyphs are the ones that preserve or give you mana. The current Seal of Blood glyph returns more mana than using the Consecration Glyph (the alternative you could use) however using the Consecration Glyph prevents some GCD clashes. I personally prefer to have the mana returns, so I went with Seal of Blood glyph.

Divine Storm glyph, while nice, doesnt really fit in the Ret glyph options. If you aren't having mana issues, Consecration Glyph is still better as it will then prevent GCD clashes, thus increasing your dps.

@Soloing and using Seal of Command over Seal of Blood.
I can solo down 13 Icecrown lvl 80 mobs right now using Seal of Blood without bubbling or LoH(probably more, that's as far as I've gone right now). Reason being it does a ton of damage, to multiple enemies, and the heals from Divine Storm and Seal of Light far outweigh the recoil damage from using the seal. Also, my judgements crit almost half the time anyway, so getting a "Free crit" every minute from SoC is not that much of a difference.

I switched to consecrate from blood. with the buff to JotW, I was back to seeing entire fights go by and end with a full mana bar. I haven't raided with it yet, but the reduction in cooldowns used i think will make a big difference, especially given the rets need to throw utility abilities in ulduar content.

And i'll take a moment to plug the use of sacred shield for rets again. If you're specced into DSac (and you are, right?) it lasts a minute and lets your AoW procs crit most of the time. Martyr soloing or in a group, recoil is nearly gone. use JoL too!

I find SotM glyph quite handy for longer raid fights. Last night during Naxx I was dpsing KT. I was spamming most of my spells when they were off cooldown and still found I had to manage my consecration so that I wouldnt run oom which makes me wonder how those not using this glyph are going with mana management.

My Major Glyphs are SotM, Exorcism and Judgement. Minors are LoH, BoMight and Sense Undead (while I am still raiding in Naxx).

Man, I miss the old days when PvE was killing mobs and PvP was killing players.

Now it's all Arena this and Ulduar that.
