WROTLK Changes in Warlock PlayFollow

#1 May 05 2009 at 11:11 PM Rating: Decent
I currently have a lvl 70 lock in full purples from steamvaults/kara or whatever that 25 man raid was. I haven't played him in about a year I've yet to pick up WROTLK and have been wondering a couple of things, in hopes that I can take him out of the closet.
1. Raiding for locks-> is there still and abundance of them? Is there an actual need for locks in raids?
2. PVP-> does the game still follow the rock paper scissors model in which some classes always have trouble with other certain classes? (ie locks vs. rogues)
3. How does playing now rate to BC play?
4. Has itemization change greatly for our class? (do raiding locks still look for high +stam +int +spell and +spell hit over most other things?)

There's less. Locks are no longer the "flavor-pf-the-month". Ret pallies have taken over that slot.

Yes, but now locks have trouble with a few more classes. Then again, who am I to say? I don't do PvP, and I really don't care whether a class has or hasn't got an advantage. It's just an observation from reading other posts here. In PvE, I have problems with mechanicals. Their immunity to drain life is a huge drawback, and I have to change my rotation especially for them.

I find Northrend more interesting than the Outlands.

+Spirit is now important. but the other stuff is still there.

once max level
hit (up until hit cap, 17% after taking into account talents/debuffs) > SP > haste > spirit > crit

crit is the worst stat for warlocks. possibly for a heavy dest spec you could argue crit to be equal to spirit... but otherwise it's worse.

1. also wondering, how long does it take to get itemized for 25 man instances nowadays, once you hit 80?
2. can you still work the auction house using auctioneer+enchantrix?

Depends on if you have a good guild to gear you up. If you do, no more than a couple of weeks. If they can carry you you can start 25-man Nax once you ding.

Probably. Tons of ways to make money, but enchanting mats still sell well.
