Mages and HitFollow

Hey, I'm currently pretty much full t7.5 with an exception of the legs as the EoE25 legs seem better to me. However, since I've recently removed 50 hit as I got the new t7.5 head, I seem to having a lower DPS. It might be just me, or is it possible that less hit = not as much as a hard hit? I don't seem to have any spell misses though.

Thanks

Did you perchance lose any Crit, SP, Int, or anything like that? Hit is simply accuracy.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. Spellpower and crit both deal with the range of your hits in ways, but hit just deals with misses. Are you missing any group buffs you're used to having? Or perhaps your meta gem isn't active? Otherwise, you may just be missing that you've missed attacks.

can you link your armory and what helm did you replace?

This is my wow armory.

Today I changed my chest yellow gem to hit. it used to be 19+SP and I think I see a bit of a difference but I'm wondering if its just me...

I have another question.

I am a tailor and have the ability to enchant my claok for the lightweave or something which procs a 500+sp for a few seconds. is this better than a constant haste of 23+?

Overall your gear is great.

Note that with Arcane you only need 8% hit to be capped (as long as you have someone putting up the hit buff) and only 7% assuming you have a draenei. So with that standard you are way over hit cap (just over 11% instead of 7%).

The lightweave enchant is FAR superior to 23haste now (it used to be bad, but they made it a huge buff in 3.1).

Crit doesn't scale well for Arcane mages -- haste does, I would regem any yellow gem to a reckless monarch topaz (haste/spell power) as long as it gives a decent socket bonus.

Egg of mortal essence was fixed in 3.09 by the way (no more procs off of arcane missiles), so I hope you have a better trinket than that one.

Your meta gem should ALWAYS be a chaotic skyflare, always.

So you will need to use two blue/purple gems (I recommend purified twilight opals (spellpower/spirit)).

I thought you needed 11% hit unless you had a Shadow Priest or Moonkin Druid in your party? I like to keep 11% hit because I tend to run either half PuGs or full PuGs on the heroics I'm doing currently and my guild is taking a break from raiding right now. So I never really know whether I'll have that extra 3% hit or not.

Yes, 11% would be the self-cap, but assuming a 25man raid, you should hopefully be able to have at least one shadowpriest and/or specced boomkin for the hit debuff.

Not sure if I'll ever be doing regular 25 man raids with my guild so I'll stick to the 11% hit then. :-) We pretty much stick to 10 mans from what I've seen, and occasionally run 25 mans with another guild.
