Hi, I'm currently level 78, here's my armory http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Eitrigg&n=Arcano. Ultimatly my goal is to pvp, either arena if I find a good team (I'm actually not sure wich bracket I should be doing as a mage) or I'll just do BG's for fun. I just made all the frostsavage gear for him with my warlock and now I'm wondering if I can sart to get better gear (for the other slots) to start pvping when I reach lv 80. I was also wondering about wich spec to pvp with, I heard arcane can do well but I beleive frost is more usefull imo, but I can be wrong.

Your help is welcomed

I'm having trouble with the armory, so my suggestions will be general.

My suggestions:

Wintergrasp as soon as you hit 80(you may even want to start now). Great way to get a nice trinket and a few nice PvP epics, as well as honor to buy higher quality PvP gear than Frostsavage. Begin working on Argent Tournament dailies for a nice epic sword(or craft a Titansteel spellblade).

Hell, with just the Frostsavage(fully enchanted, right?) and a nice weapon, you'll already be ready to start some BGs.

the armory link has a . at the end of it from the end of the sentence, remove it and you can see it.

Actually, my problem with the armory was that my normal work comp had a CPU fan go out and shut itself down, so I'm stuck on the workstation without enough ram to run both Allakhazam and the Armory at the same time while also running our required operations software. Smiley: tongue

OK I've been 80 for almost a day and a half now and I did my first BG. Then I did like three moare. Bsically, It didn't go so well. I need to know whats my purpose, I thought I can jump in the big fight and do damage (never again). When I tried to kill someone I would die before finishing a frosbolt (and I had ice barrier on) I checked the combat log to see what happened and most of all the damage were crits, one of them made me laugh "hunter shot hits arcano for 5790 (critical)" now I think that's an auto shot because usually it says the name of the ability, but that's huge for white damage, no? Then in the second BG I tried to CC, sheep the healer deep freeze a rogue stunlocking our healer, you know whatever can help, but I didn't really try to kill anything. This BG worked a lot better actually IMO. Now, what our role exactly?

You need more resilience. And 15k Health is REALLY low for PvP. My Tank DK with 22K health goes down in seconds, and he has 50-60% mitigation, two abilities that lower damage by 40%, a magic shield and a magic immunity...

Unfortunately, coming into the game this late, you'll die a lot until you can close the gear gap.

As for your role:

There is no "single" role in a BG. You have to be dynamic and go with the situation. Is your job to damage the enemy? Yes. Is your job to CC the enemy? Yes. Is your job to protect your healer and FCs? Yes. Is it your job to run the flag? Yes (imo, mages are one of the best classes to run it). Is your job to defend a node? Yes. Is your job to buff? Yes.

In general, saving your healer should be above most other things, unless you have to take out the EFC asap.
