Went back to Ret on my Pally alt and been spending some time in the Plaguelands... I'm now 56 and almost in Outland. Problem is I'm still carrying a level 43 blue polearm (Bonechewer), and haven't seen anything much better at an affordable price for the last fifteen levels.

I've been looking through Thottbot but I can't see any early Outland quests/instances that will give me a nice two-hander... can anyone recommend where I should head to when I step through the portal?

edit: found one in Ramps, but is there one available through an early quest?

It's a long time since I was that level but the weapon of choice from 51 was the Ice Barbed Spear from the Alterac Valley quest

Isn't Rage Reaver from one of the early Outland quests, at like 58 or so? Two-handed axe. Here it is. Not ideal, but beats the heck out of any old world weapon and comes from one of the first quests.

I had a similar problem with my own ret paladin, except I was using Mograine's Might instead of Bonechewer (I stupidly, in my newb days, chose the Sword of Serenity instead... and then quit on the character upon getting to 42 and recently picked it back up after Lich King). It lasted me until Level 51 and I found some random Green 2h Axe of the Bear. I used that until Level 58 when I bought a Green Outland Weapon of the Bandit. That lasted me until I got that katana from the Cenarion peeps in Hellfire Peninsula.

From there, I think there's a weapon in Zangarmarsh somewhere, and then you're getting close to the time when you're supposed to get your honed voidaxe (though if you don't have a good guild to help you, just skip it; the honed voidaxe will be replaced quite soon, the first green 2h weapon quest reward in northrend will replace it).

From there, you grab the Trident from the Winterfin, that should last you until at least 75.

Ah, yes. The Hellboar Carving Blade. Since I am leveling Enchanting, I put Impact on it and carry around a stack of sharpening stones. Love that thing. The loot in Outlands is great, compared to Azeroth. I just can't wait until I get to Northrend.

Thanks everyone for the great replies (especially Goggy for making me a list!). Got a clear idea of what I can aim for now.

By the way, can someone please explain how the Impact enchant works? Never understood that one. Say I get the +5 points of dmg enchant on the Rage Reaver, does that mean instead of 167-251 points of dmg before any modifiers etc it does 172-356? To me that doesn't look like worthwhile but I must be missing something...

Yeah the +5 dmg type enchants are pretty much useless at higher levels, a better (but more expensive) choice is the enchants that add attack power. Savagery or Greater Savagery would be your best choices, they add +50 or +85 attack power respectively... I think.

I'm currently at lvl 64 and using Destiny. Are those listed above an improvement on this, or should I stick with it for the moment.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but it was a similar question and didn't want to start a new thread.

Many thanks
