OK I know the FAQ's have great stuff on healing for lvl 80 builds... but I don't have WotLK yet, I know sad right?

so with the re-spec's this week it's a good time to verify these builds

Disc Healing ---- http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVhbuhhVRIsffRt0L
Holy Heals ----- http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVbZcxxcs0qih0euVo

And yes 2 healing specs -- lots of pugs at L 70, some with agood tank, some where i have to keep the over threating group alive

any changes I need to make?

Creating a healing build for level 70 is horrible because
A) Disc builds can't pick up both Penance and Inspiration
and B) Holy builds can't pick up Guardian Spirit and Meditation.
while in both of these builds having both said talents is pretty much a must.

For disc healing your best bet would probably be to do this and use Greater Heal over Penance. For holy it's a bit easier since you can turn your build into a completely AOE focused one where you wouldn't have to worry about picking up stuff like Empowered Healing and Guardian spirit. The best 70 build would probably be a disc/holy combination spec like so.

I healed in a build very similar to the hybrid Moz linked at 70 and when I hit 75 I changed to the equivalent of this:

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#bVcbuhhVRfssrkt0xxc

for Disc and finished up with this:

I tried loads of Holy specs but can't get my head round them. The hybrid works nicely for 70 as you get a nice chunk of boosts to your existing spells rather than going all out for the new stuff. I have also healed in a build similar to your Disc one. I think a lot of it is personal choice. Aspiration is nice but Penance is nicer for me because of its speed compared to a greater heal.

I don't think you *need* Guardian Spirit to heal at 70. Sure, you're losing a great tool, but it's not integral to being able to heal the way Penance is for Disc. IMO. But you really can't play without Meditation no matter who you are.

I'd do this.

Thanks for the post. I agree you can find lots of information about 80 level builds but almost nothing about how to get there or if you are stuck at 70.

Since I am into DISC right now, and I think it is the perfect build for 60-70 level PUG instances here is my suggestion:

Disc 70

1) I'd dump the silent resolve (replaced with Improved Inner Fire). Yes PUG tanks can be awful, but fade is great. If you are needing to fade that much get the fade glyph.

2) I only put two points in enlightenment, just to get to the next level. If you really like Silent Resolve replace enlightenment with those two points.

3) I'd use the point I saved to Holy Specialization to get the extra percent to crit.

As always, you're right Teacake =P I should've rephrased that. You indeed do never *need* Guardian Spirit to heal anything. It's just that it's a pain to not being able to get if once you go that high up the holy tree. That, and the fact that you can't get more than 3 points in Divine Providence make a 70 holy healing build quite itchy.

I dunno if I agree with this. We were healing that content just fine without all these new-fangled talents when CoH was the bottom of the tree. I don't see why you still couldn't?

Well the new fangled talents changed things, but still in the end we are more powerful even at 70 than we were, and, well 70s content is pretty easy now in comparison to pre-3.X(or was it 2.8 that changed everything to wrath?).

When you look at top end talents from 70 and 80 I would say COH is more of a must than Guardian Spirit for Holy and Penance is more of a must than Pain Suppression imo. Yes both of the other talents are nice, but not as nice. Playing Disc I couldn't be without my Penance as it is such an *** saver in any circumstance due to it's speed and mana efficiency in the same way COH is an AOE *** saver due to its instant cast, especially since they buffed it again. Guardian Spirit is nice but it only saves one person's ***, COH saves a whole group, likewise Pain Supression lets you survive longer but at a cost of reduced threat which is bad for a tank whereas Penance just gives you more health with no penalty, faster and more mana efficiently than GH and also has a good chance to proc DA if you have it and put your stacks of Grace up.
