How does this FOK'ing work?Follow

I don't know much about game mechanics and I was trying to find out how FOK works as far as damage. Obviously the tooltip says 100% of non-dagger damage and 150% of dagger.

How is weapon damage defined? For example, I am currently using twin LPCs. Tooltip shows they do 135-203 damage (130 DPS). I assume it combines MH and OH, so does FOK, unpoisoned, do 270-406 damage to each mob?

And how would one maximize the damage without changing specs? As a Muti rogue build would I be better off with poisoned slow, hard hitting non-daggers for the highest damage range or would my muti specced talents plus the 150% end up doing more damage for me?

I guess what I am getting at is if I want to get the maximum FOKing damage in limited use situations (slaying Rookery whelps, farming leather, etc), what kind of weapons and poisons should I be using?

Thanks.

PS Another quick question, with 3.1 Muti, what are the recommended dagger speed and poisons now for PVE world and raiding? I keep reading conflicting things.

Raiding PVE: Slow MH Fast OH. Instant Main, Deadly Off.

FOK: Its weapon dmg + % of AP= actual dmg. To get the most dmg, out of FoK i would use two slow weapons like swords or something, but then u have to equip swap to do mutilate stuff. And also the poisons on your weapons have a chance to hit also when you FoK.

As for mutilate builds for PVE. 45% dmg is from white hits. and then the remainder is split up with your mutilate, rupture, poisons and envenoms. I forget how much per each one but of course the should all equal to 55% from my previous percent. I think poisons do 2nd most then mutilate envenom are about equal and rupture sucks with the lowest till you get 4 piece T8.

Follow the rule of the typical hit cap expertise cap, get a spreadsheet from EJ, and fiddle around in game with dummies.

I'm pretty sure you don't want to try and hit cap for white hits, just special. I think it takes too much sacrifice generally to be worth it now.

Don't bother with weapon swaps. The damage difference is so negligible that it's laughable.

There was a time when it was worth it?

Where the **** were you in TBC?

We get our poison hit cap and nothing else, now.

In TBC, we gemmed almost straight hit 'til the hit cap.

I'd have to check, but I think my recount would avg my mutilate around 40-45%, white hits second around 20-25%, and poisons/envenom after about 18% each. For a mutilate build, going for the white cap is not only impossible, but implausible. Get to the poison cap (315 hit or so w/ precision, less w/ a spell hit raid buff), and gem for expertise. Think the exp. cap is 26, but I'm only going for about 22 or so. If you were really looking for more fok dmg, bring a harding hitting offhand dagger, but it's a waste of time tbh.
