So I repecc'd resto/elemental--a couple of questionsFollow

So I decided to take advantage of the dual spec opportunity. I chose a resto build and an elemental build. I'm level 80.

I chose resto because I'd like to start healing; my guild is a little short on healers, plus I've thought about it for a while. I'm not planning on raiding, just doing instances and heroics.

But, I've never healed before. Much of my gear is +sp, +haste, mp5, etc; I've been collecting it for a bit now. Unfortuneately, I've sold off all my other stuff, so I'm kinda stuck now.

My question is: If I try to "get my feet wet" by healing lower level instances, am I gonna peel aggro off my tanks if they are 5-10 levels lower than me?

Secondly, I specc'd elemental becasue it seemed a better fit with my gear (since spell power affects both heals and spells instead of having it split out +heal +sp). I've never played an elemental either--have been enhancement since day 1 ont his, my first toon. I figured I'd try questing some first, (I've only just got to Icecrown, and I understand there's lots of quests--the achievement is 175 quests).

FWIW, here's my armory: Bgredsox (Doctors of Philosophy)
When does Armory update? I made my changes two days ago, and they aren't there....
I'm 57/14/0 for elemental and 0/16/55 resto (from what I remember)

Healing generates aggro based on the amount of damage actually healed, so no you shouldn't.

EDIT: For clarity.

can't check your armory, you show as untalented. Talent were reset last Tuesday so you might have to respec again.

ya try some questing to get used to solo play. It will be a little different with a mace/shield than with 2 maces (or axes I suppose).

And no healing aggro as mentioned. You could heal wailing caverns and not pull any aggro. It will be good practice, and they'll be happy to have a high level healer heal for them.

There are many threads here on healing, look for them. Some offer tips to what rotation to use healing 5 mans (though there is no real rotation, but it does give tips), and what stats to go for on gear.
