Anyone ever spec dual-wield/resto?Follow

I read something real quick about spec'ing to a dual wield/resto build on elitistjerks. basically, use points in enhancement until you get to dual wield and put the rest into resto.

I guess you get the "best of both worlds" with dealing decent damage and healing a fair bit

Anyone ever try this set up? Your thoughts?

There was only ever one point to DW and it wasn't to do damage.

Two weapons equals two Earthliving enchants, and two spell power enchants.

Double the EL HoT proc rate (maybe not exactly, there's some messed up programming out there.....) and the extra SP is what it's for.

I tried this spec recently on my shaman. i dw the BoE dagger from H HoL. basicly its not bad for raid heals, but in terms of healing utility the traditional resto spec shaman does better. I lost impt skills like riptide and earth shield.

If your raid have a traditional resto spec shaman than u can go DW healing to combo with him.

My shaman is currently back to normal resto spec

Yeah, after some more reading, I realize the point to the DW was to gain an extra weapon or other item to get stat bonuses on.

yup mainly to really pump up your +healing with that second weapon. It looked real interesting, I Just never had the balls to try it :). Not to mention I don't raid, so it's pointless. The spec won't do you very much good in 5 mans. I'd imagine that spec is for one thing, and one thing only. Spamming chain heal. As mentioned before you'll lose earth shield and riptide.
