Best dps pet in 3.1?Follow

Just wondering if there have been any changes or conclusions made. I currently run with a raptor, but am considering trying a wolf or going back to my kitty.

Cunning, Ferocity and Tenacity pets now all have +5% damage, +5% armor and +5% health bonuses. This should make more pet families feel viable, while additional talents have been added to distinguish a pet’s abilities based on its specializations.

This is from the patch notes.
So basically all pets will do the same damage and the only DPS difference will be from how you assign you pet skill points.

Most people on EJ are saying Wolf, and I myself would too.

I assume you mean talent points rather than skill points, but you're still forgetting about the pet abilities individual to each family, eh?

For BM, devilsaurs win. (another reason for me to not spec BM)
For MM/SV, 320 AP with a 50% uptime is the best damn thing you can get.

EJ, me, AND Aethien are all saying it now.

That settles it then. Time to go find a wolf I like looking at.

The spreadsheet also supports that wolves are the best thing for MM/SV hunters.

I'm rather enjoying my puppy. I've been waiting for them to become good pets for years. I went back out to Ashenvale and retamed a Ghostpaw Alpha that I tried when I was level 30.

So we are now saying that all the ferocity pets do the same damage even with their different skills and if they were talented the same ?.

I am surprised as i would have thought one of the skills they have would have been better than others or did they manage to get all the skills very closely balanced for a change ?.

I guess some pets in the ferocity family may still be better under some circumstances though ?.

I cannot say how much I dislike those undead looking pets.
It might be me, but I like to think of a hunter as someone who takes good care of his pet, not someone who lets it rot away.

I always feel a little sad for the poor things that have an owner like that.

dps of pets still depends on their family skill AND talent build, so yes, some pets are better than others...

I'm pretty disappointed with the wolf skins, this guy is the only one that really jumps out at me, but for now I've tamed a colour changer from storm peaks as I didn't want to level them from 75.

I wanted to use one of those, but the patch caught me by surprise and I didn't have enough time to level one. Too bad too, being an orc I looked like a Ramps trash mob with green skin instead of red :/

Anyone have a good cookie cutter spec for Wolves?

DPS has dropped switching to the wolf, in a big way.

I love the Ashenvale wolves. That has been my main pet for ages even before this wolf>all thing was decided. He looks cool with my old orc hunter who has a matching grey braid. Plus Orcs and wolves go good together lore wise. Hmm I should dust off my hunter I think he is 73 or so now.

This
is what I'm using.

From what I've heard, the AP boost from Wild Hunt doesn't work, so I didn't have to do too much thinking to figure out which top talent to pick up.

This is the best, but you should still try it in the spreadsheet as Shark Attack can be better in certain circumstances.
