Boss and Solo PVE RotationsFollow

Could someone post a kitty dps rotation for both bosses and also soloing (dailies). I've been resto my entire career and am lost. I checked out the prior post on boss dps which listed priorities, but still wasn't clear.

For the solo rotation I'm thinking something like:

Prowl, Pounce, Mangle, then not sure....

For the boss rotation from that post I got this:

Mangle once, Savage Roar once, Rake once, Shred to 5 points, then Rip?

Just change Shred to Mangle and stuff will die by before you get to 5 CP. If they are still alive use a finisher depending on how alive they are if not SR to have the buff for the next mob.

If you want a super simplified version of it... yes. Unfortunately it's just far more complicated than that.

Yes, right now I'm just trying to establish something basic to get my feet wet. Then move on/fine tune it from there. I'll go with that on boss fights.

The fastest thing for dailies just seems to be Prowl, Pounce, Mangle, Mangle, Mangle or FB.

The fastest way for dailies would be just like that - without the prowling and pouncing :)

Seriously, now that I got an extra cat spec that finally includes Improved LoTP again, I'm just running around, spamming mangle and FFF goodness, charge when I feel like it... never losing more health than the aura wouldn't heal every couple seconds.

Prowling costs too much time if you can kill mobs before they hurt you.

For solo I would say just mangle to 5 combo points and then ferocious bite if needed.

For bosses I would suggest you get Face Mauler which is an awesome addon and simplifies Kitty DPS rotation/priorities

I like Badkitty better than Facemauler.

You have to make your own decisions but I like it better. Like a mini mob debuff tracker.

Better off getting the SR debuff going for along duration. Speeds up the next kill.

Not tried BadKitty....maybe I will give it a go and see which I prefer.

See your point on SR, guess I don't think of the future benefits and just concentrate on the here and now :)

Thanks again for the suggestions. I will try eliminating the prowling and see how that works. I think I'll check out badkitty as well. My main spec is still resto, but why not utilize a dual spec to it's max if you spent 1k on it?

As a side note I'm really bitter about the change to lifebloom. They doubled the mana cost, but give you a refund of half when it blooms...thus in my mind eliminating the rolling stack of lifebloom strategy.

I healed the first boss in H Nex using rolling lifeblooms and was oom relatively fast. Then I healed the second boss letting them bloom and had no problems. Maybe this makes addons like Dotimer more valuable to resto druids now too?

This is exactly why they did it. You could pile on three types of HoTs and sit, regening more mana outside of the 5 second rule. Now lifebloom rolling is nerfed and out of combat regen is nerfed; you actually need to be more involved and watch your mana.

It does suck, but it's working as intended.

That... is beautiful. Totally bookmarked.

FaceMauler vs. BadKitty

FaceMauler is excellent to get your feet wet. Your DPS will be lower, however. Your ability to look at all your timers at once (particuarly via BadKitty) will always be far better than a program that does what it can. If you use FM, you'll notice times where the icon changes right as you hit the skill. This causes a DPS loss that you would have been better able to account for.

Cool! Must print it and have a look later when I am home.

I am still getting my feet wet at the moment. My main is a holy pally and my guild don't seem to want to invite me to any raids on my druid so I have just been doing the odd heroic or two every other night with close in-game friends. Maybe it would be worthwhile for me to go to another guild that has just started raiding to see if I can get in with them.

I've been using FM lately and I know what you mean about it changing. I think its time to try out BadKitty and see how that works for me. Before trying FM I was using DotTimer which was ok except there was too many other things being displayed too. Hopefully BadKitty will be better for me.

I tried printing it myself, but I can't get it formatted right so you can see it on a single page. Any suggestions?

You can always use programs like Photoshop and Paint.NET to resize it to something more printer-friendly.

Here's a resized version. I didn't print it out to test so I can't guarantee it'll still be easy to read, but it should be decent.
