New Resto With Dual Spec. Quick QuestionFollow

With the dual spec, I made my secondary spec resto. My primary spec is still feral dps. Anyway, my question is what numbers should I be seeing as far as spell power, mana/5, etc. to be ready to heal heroics. I ran a few low level instances as healer last night and had no problem, but they were regular. Right now with my crappy healing gear equiped (the other healer always had priority since his main spec is resto) and in tree form, i have 1354 bonus healing ad 332 mana regen, 190 while casting. My haste rating is 127. What numbers should I be aiming for while gearing up as healer of the next couple of days?

Thanks in advance.

If you're up for a bit of a challenge, you're fine with that. A little more MP5 while casting would be beneficial but you also have Innervate, food, possible Pally/Shaman buff, and if you're feeling really crazy and have gold to spare, you can even get a couple flasks. Take some DPS and and a tank from your guild so you have a reliable backbone, start with the easy heroics like Nexus and UK to help you get in the swing of things, and you'll be fine. If it's not, toss a few cheap SP/spirit enchants on.

If you don't mind, next time you log out, it's be helpful if you could leave your Resto gear on and link your armory. That way our little pack of helpers here can double check gemming, talents etc.

My main focus on my resto is Int, spell power and then mana regen. If you are a JC, I highly suggest making that blue owl trinket, it'll give you some mana in a pinch and of course always carry potions.

Gearwise you could get some good drops off heroics.

Spell wise I tend to rotate hots and toss our nourishes in a pinch. (wild growth is my friend)

I have yet to do the dual although I have some tier to offspec boomkin and Feral. Itll depend on guild needs what I choose (if I do)

There's really no reason to be explicitly gemming for INT and mana regen. Spirit is really the kind over these stats because it provides SP and a large chunk of MP5 as well. The regen nerf did make INT more beneficial, but it isn't drastic enough of a change to warrant losing any SP over.

Gemming for MP5... I'm not a fan of. I guess if you're having severe regen issues that's better, but again, spirit/SP are just more optimal.

Once you get to raid heal, you will find some fights you want mana regen (badly) although I have found that I rarely OOM except on fights like Patchwerk.

AS for spirit affecting spellpower, I believe that is specifically priests only.

I almost exclusively raid heal. :)

I probably should have said healing spellpower, but that seems unnecessary because we're not dealing damage. As Horsemouth showed, spirit absolutely affects spellpower.

Me too.Although, that seems to be what they normally do with trees. I know we have pallys & priests on the tanks and the druids on the raid (and the occasional resto shammy, if you can find one..)
I find that as a tree, mainhealing for a squishy tank sucks. We had a newer tank with 26k health try patch. He couldn't figure out why all of us healers couldn't keep him up when he was taking crits for upwards of 25k....

You know, I've been a druid for all these years and never considered spirit important, I stand corrected :)

I still highly stand behind the program Healbot, it just makes raid healing so much easier and it has a very simple layout.

I think you're fine to start healing heroics. Just watch how you apply your lifeblooms, let them bloom to get your mana back. You'll probably never innervate except for the occasional boss fight, but having some mana pots on standby for those oh **** moments and it'll be cake. Have fun!
