You may want to link your armory so that people can see your current gear, too.

I don't know anything about the current PvP specs, but certain ones may have different gear requirements. Knowing where you are now makes it easier to help.

You may want to hold off the investigation for a few weeks, until the hot-fixes and sudden post-patch changes stop.

Did we ever come to a conclusion on this?

I have a DK on a PvP server (first time on one) and I'm wondering if it's better to go with a straight blood spec or a blood/unholy (with permaghoul)... or just straight unholy cookie cutter.

I would think that blood has better one vs. one DPS, but the ghoul is what throws me off...

Thanks for any info.... I'm going to reread the sticky and see if I can get some answers since the recent patch :)

I would personally go Frost.

For smaller arena formats, you might want the Hungering Cold glyph over the HB, but for 3s, 5s, and BGs, being able to apply Chilblains with HB is awesome.

I've have not tried frost yet... very interesting. Does it matter that this is leveling on a PvP server versus arena talk?

He's still just a wee orc DK at level 62.

Thanks for the build assist too... I'm going to give it a go... at least for the practice.

You may want to go Blood for leveling just because of the health regen you can get, which helps with downtime and will keep you alive longer in PvP encounters.

Frost has very little health regen besides ghoul sac (and I guess DS, but I'd rather use Oblit), thus isn't optimal for leveling.

Depends on how agressive PvP is on your server.

I rolled a pair of chars on a PvE server for the experiment, and PvP flagged them from the start. Only 1 death to PvP on the ally side char so far from a level skull guy which probably saw me on his alliance char and decided to log his level 80 horde char to come and kill me inside the Honor Hold inn.

TBH I callenged randomly encountered horde chars to duel in Hellfire Peninsula even being 5 or 6 levels below them and they even declined duel. Maybe my horde PvE char sees more action? Probably will if I level him through the infamous Tarren Mill area, who knows. I'll keep going with the experiment.

On my PvP server every quest zone had PvP encounters involved. Usually even sided in terms of level except when near places visited by high level chars such as the entrance to Northrend instances. I got ganked either way but the vast majority of world pvp was honor kills. So yeh, I was getting a few honor kills from most quest zones no doubt about it so PvP oriented spec helped there.

This said I went with a Frost spec on my PvP server char and it worked well.

My current experiment DK is a Blood DK since I thought the HS glyph was very nice and Blood has the "feel" of having been buffed compared to what I remember. I don't know how it's going to work out. If you go blood, the BS glyph apparently doesn't work with HS.

I do have one question BTW, it sometimes seemed to me that the Ghoul had a pretty good ability to detect stealth targets. Is it so?
