Duel Spec?....um.....Why?Follow

#1 Apr 16 2009 at 5:08 PM Rating: Decent
I can see the advantage to a Priest, being able to jump from Shadow to Holy, same for a Pali. Or perhaps the warrior, going from a Tank spec to a DSP spect. But a "WARLOCK"....I mean, what is there besides "DPS", and the highest amount availible! It seems to me that the best over all builds are a combintation of the possible specs as it is.....right?

Don't get me wrong, I really wanna get excited about this new possibilty, but how do we justify 1000g when we still have only one purpose in life..................DPS?

I agree, in a way. Other classes can respec from healer or tank, to a dps build. However, locks are all dps, no matter the build. Then again, isn't that the same for rogues and hunters as well?

With locks, their are a few specs. Deep specs into any tree, plays differently. I for one prefer the fg/emb spec, while others like deep destro or affliction. Some may switch between the specs so often, buying the dual spec for 1k might be cheaper in the long run, then spending to change specs so often.

I for one doubt I'll be buying the 2nd spec option, unless someone points out some benefit to having it.

Seems to me like you'd have 1 spec for pve and the other for pvp.

You could always have a PvE and a PvP spec. Also, if your guild ever doesn't have an Ele Shammy, you can switch to Meta/Ruin for Demonic Pact, and whatever your other normal spec is on the other.

I've bought it. Destro raid build and Aff PVP build.

If you don't do PvE and PvP then I can say with certainty it isn't worth it. Sure, you may THINK you'd switch build to suit situations, but you won't do it often enough to justify 1k gold.

Don't anyone say farming/raiding - that's rubbish and you know it!

1 reason, 2 abrievations. PVE and PVP.
for me for now... 0/41/30 for pve, 0/17/54 for pvp, 'tis great being able to swap between these whenever needed

Well if you "duel" spec it would have to be PvP wouldn't it! Smiley: smile

I'm not aching to hand over 1k on this but I can see a use for raid and solo builds. There are talents I like soloing which I don't need raiding and vice versa. Basically stuff like Improved Health funnel are not raid talents but come in useful soloing.

My DUAL specs will be ;

pve - 0/30/41
pvp - 0/20/51

I didn't save gold for it,so atm I'm farming money.

Why ? Since I have to respec for raids and then again to pvp I'll be saving alot of money and in about 2 weeks or less that 1000g will pay off itself.

edit: pve spec - 0/41/30 ,not 0/30/41 ^^

I don't pvp much and still bought dual spec. One of the things I hated as affliction was the burst type fights, my damage would hit the dirt. I'm staying affliction in 3.1, even though the loss of Immolate and SS makes the rotation too easy, and my dual spec is destruction for the burst damage type fights. Tried it in Naxx last night and it was nice to actually do damage on adds before they were dead. Granted, now I need to learn how to time the destruction cool-downs properly.
