Well I think we have been talking about this sort of stuff if several other threads. Wanted to have a easy to find spot. As some of the discussion is related to the planned sticky more than observations, ideas and what not.

Anywho. I have been rocking a 0/59/11 build. Very standard pre-patch build. With the intended plan of comparing Lacerate with and without PG. Due to technical issues this is taking longer than I want.

But none has noticed me not having spent all my points. In fact my threat has gone up a good amount, DPS as well but not by as much. I have no idea why as I have less agility do to a regemming. The revamped FFF may be the answer. It does respectable damage now and threat as well. Plus its free which leaves more rage for other attacks.

The drop in armor while noticeable has been not really an issue. Shields are procing for over 1k not sure of exact number. I'm at work. Survivability hasn't been an issue yet.

New Swipe is nifty, but hasn't been that handy yet.

Overall, I am fine with the new patch. The end spec I will use is still up in the air.

I want a better idea of the boost PG gives. I want to play with the rotation with Imp Mangle, it is long and doesn't sync up very well as of now so those points may vanish as well. Also MS is looking good. I am so used to having BI but may have to drop it, just like I may spec out of ILotP, either all the way or just 1/2. OoC may be a causality as well. As some have reported that not having it isn't very noticeable.

0/54/17 for me. Ran VH again today. Had one of our progression druids healing. She said she started talking to people on AIM halfway through the run after she realized I took no damage.

The shield seemed to proc slightly more on this run, and with her rolling hots, my health rarely, if ever dipped below 25-28k for any reason.

Group Comp:

Resto Druid
Feral Tank Druid
Assassination Rogue
Ret Pally
Unholy DK

Seemed smoother that run. Not sure what the difference was beyond Hots vs Direct heals. Since Earth Shield has a pause between hits causing it to proc. Hmmmm...

I'd love to be able to contribute more, but because of MIA guildies we haven't been able to run much. We tried the new VoAaE boss yesterday but we already had two tanks so I got to go as kitty (and topped DPS, zomg!).

Anyhow, I still went out of my way to kill a few elites and whatnot for kicks and to see how the new specs and bear shield perform.

Increased threat. Yeah, FFF must have something to do with it, but I didn't feel it was that good. Depends what kind of threat increase we're talking about I guess. Then again, I haven't gotten used to using it every time its CD is up. Doing so might lead me to speccing out of Imp Mangle as well, as I've noticed the poor timing it has with the FFF CD.

Armor drop isn't so bad indeed. I lost around 4% mitigation. Not nice, but the shield makes up for it rather well so far. I mostly went 1-on-1 against elites so I have yet to see it perform against packs of mobs. I did feel squishier but that's probably my head playing tricks on me. We've had roughly a month to freak out about getting nerfed so it's probably stuck in my head even though I know, mathematically-speaking, the nerfs weren't that big a deal.

Agreed on Swipe. I helped a guildmate Resto Druid grind some mobs in Sholazar and I could see the danger of knowing Swipe works from behind: I'd just run around gathering mobs, leaving them to follow behind me, hitting me in the back where I can't dodge. Pocket healers FTW and all that, but I was definitely more careless than I would normally have been.

As for the spec, I dunno. I kinda struggled to choose where to put my last points in my DPS build, but the tanking one seemed much more straightforward. BI, while nice indeed, isn't what I consider a good investment of 2 points. You should have DPSers able to interrupt more reliably than you so this would be mostly good for PvP in my opinion. MS does look good, and I might consider changing a few points around if I end up dropping Imp Mangle. I think I'll always keep iLotP though. Even if it often ends up as overhealing, I feel it takes away some stress from the healers. I currently don't feel I could invest those point somewhere more useful anyway, save MS maybe. OoC, lastly, I'll probably never get rid of it. For a single point, it has great benefits. It's not great for raid bosses where rage is nearly endless, but it's awesome for those few situations where you may be left rage starved from time to time. It is RNG but over the course of a fight it will definitely be a constant increase in rage availability, and thus threat and all that jolly stuff.

Forgive the poor wording, it seems I can't type in English today... -_-

Primal Gore lets lacerate crit. When I crit, I get a shield. I like primal gore.

My spec is identical to yours except instead of BI I have Shredding Attacks. Useful in Naxx, where some bosses miss so often or hit for so little that I'm rage-starved at times.

I am likely to end up with this as my spec.

I want to play around with some other stuff first though. Been busy at work so it is cutting into my reading time. Will do some at lunch.

This is what I spec'd for tanking Bear

I decided to dual spec Bear/Cat for the time being. May change to Feral/Resto later.

Biggest surprise was a FFF crit of like 1.3K. I expected a lot from the "substantially increased damage" but when I saw that big fat number popping up during a trash pull I was blown away... I don't think it's supposed to crit, is it?

SD seems to work ok on trash, but the stamina loss IS hurting a lot on bosses. Ingvar in UK heroic pwned me - something that hasn't happened in a long time, if ever. 3K health 100% of the time are just better than 1000-something absorption sometimes. Not sure what to do about this. Maybe a sponge set with total disregard of SD probability.

I regemmed to give me back most all of the health.

You don't really have a choice. Stuff hits hard in Ulduar from all reports.

yeah stuff hits hard and fast. we wiped on a trash pull like 4 times on way to ignet.(sorry bad spelling second boss). was flame looking guys from hol. well they let out a tornado that roams and has a nice reach on it hitting for like 2k fire damage with imp mow and pally aura on. i think raid leader plans on doing 7 healers next 25 man just for the aoe damage. couldnt cc them at all. as for tallent builds i'm going with this wich seemed to work good so far.

@punkspider

I wouldn't drop PP until I have it on my gear anyway.

I also wouldn't want to have to gem for much expertise as well.

What is your expertise at now without it?

I'm running with this atm. I just feel 3 point in master shapeshifter is such a waste of talents just to get the last 2 points that actually give some benefit.

I'm mostly tanking with DK and pala tanks, so I'm the one keeping AP debuff up anyway. I'm still not sure it will be my final tank spec.

I had one Crit for like 2.3K last night, also had some of my mangles crit for over 10K.......Needless to say, threat is not an issue, but I did feel a wee bit squishier overall(And I did not like that).

This is more aimed at DKDruid, but for anyone else as well. A little background first: I have a pally tank (almostly fully Naxx25/Valor geared), a DK tank (with a ~4 epics, but mostly blues), and my feral that's currently 78. (Yes, I like to tank!) You stated that you are tanking with DK's and pally's. I was OT'ing (VoA) with my DK the other 2 nights ago with a feral MT. (He was in Naxx10/Naxx25 gear). I was giving him the standard 3-5 seconds to build up threat (even though the dps were not), but I was ripping threat off him VERY quickly. This caused me great concern for my 78. I wasn't paying a lot of attention, nor did I ask, to his rotation. Are you having problems with this?
