After the emergency downtime today, I logged into my druid to find all of my talent points for both specs had been refunded.
I didn't go over the trees with a fine toothed comb but was something changed that was significant enough to refund our talent points again?

You could, you know, try checking the talent points/3.1 changes threads ALREADY ON THIS FORUM.

And there wasn't a ton of significant changes, but some swaps. Every class had their points refunded.

Edit: I misread the OP; he's talking about the changes done after this morning's emergency maintenance. Sorry for the snappy attitude; too many "ZOMG WTF" posts recently!

Don't forget to visit your class trainer to learn the amazing bear bubble, which does not appear to have a bubble, or a buff icon? Or maybe I was just bugged. I didn't test it all that much, was busy jousting :)

There's a buff icon, and I think it looks like Frenzied Regen, but there's no bubble.

My little boomkin enjoyed this patch greatly, she gained nearly 100 SP from them changing the SP heirloom items.

You could, you know, try reading my post again. I'm not talking about what changed with 3.1. I'm talking about what's changed after the emergency downtime TODAY. I already got my dual specs and both sets talented, then after todays downtime I was refunded my talents AGAIN. Im asking what did they change in the downtime AFTER the release of 3.1.

I heard that a few talents and abilities were not working properly. Maybe it was just easier for Blizz to wipe everyone's talents after a hotfix? Dunno really, haven't logged since yesterday night.

Same thing happened to me this morning. I respecced last night, but was unspecced this morning. Not sure if it was druid specific, but no one else in the guild seemed to have the problem.

One of my guildmates last night said he got 72 talent points to add instead of the 71 everyone else had. Maybe that was part of it too.

Ah, my apologies, I missed the "again" part in there.

Edit: To be fair, everyone else but Azwing misread the OP as well ;-)

They had to hotfix the talent points because there was a bug with people getting 72 points and sometimes more than that. It was fixed but it appears there is a new bug with people talenting something like say starfall, and it appearing in their spellbook but doesn't appear to have a point in the talent.

This morning I was able to "Track Humanoids" even in caster form... which I'm not complaining about! But I don't remember reading that in the Patch Notes.

Bug? Or did I miss it?

That reminds me, I could track fish and herbs at the same time yesterday. Darn, I should have gone on a farming spree! Can't herb though. Gotta fish.. that... turtle..

I'm not complaining, mind you, but it is incredible how bugged the patch is. There are always bugs with patches, but it's surprising they can't iron these out on the PTR.

OMFG i feel so stupid sitting here at work thinking they left that bubble out cause i never went to trainer on my druid lol. i loged my pally in first and trained kings asap but wasn't thinking the bear bubble was trained. i thought it was a tallent lol. i heard it was buggy on ptr so it was left out. well guess i'm gonna log all my toons when i get home and make sure they are upto date on spells. i was pissed that my hp and armor went down and no bubble effect to help out at all. well time to go hang my head in shame as i tell my buddy why i was missing my bubble.....

Hey Scudderfunk, I had something similar (maybe 'identical' is a better word) happen a few days ago.

I set up my Druid with his two specs on Tuesday (April14th) and ran Nexus to try out the builds. I tanked the dungeon and once it was done I switched to my Healing spec.

After a few minutes as a Tree, my group wanted to hit UK. I switched back to Tank spec and hopped on a flight.

While in flight I look over my Primary Spec (Feral Tank) and notice I have no points spent. I use the flight to put the points back in (AND set up hot keys again).

The next day Wednesday, when I logged in all my talent points were returned to me again.

Since Wednesday April 15th (Date of your Original Post) this has not happened again. Both specs and hot keyed abilities now stay the same when switching specs.

I am not sure if these issues were due to me making an 'error' while setting up the 2 builds (as some guildies have suggested) or if it had something to do with server issues/downtime/hotfixes that were applied over the past few post-patch days.

Could this be something that was only affecting Dual Spec Druids? Or has anyone seen something similar happen to other classes?

Raideroftheblade:

If you mean continually having our talents refunded, mine had been refunding every time I logged back on since the patch, it finally stopped. I hadn't dual specced yet. Needless to say I have them memorized and don't have to really think now when redoing them.

I guess it was some sort of weird bug. I understand that they did do another refund, but this was just automatically wiping them after proper logouts, every time.

All fixed now! (of course since I said that I'll log on to no talents again Smiley: frown )

Yeah.

I expected it to be a limited time issue and I was VERY sure I had not made a 'mistake' while setting it up.

I was actually kinda happy as I (like everyone else by the sounds of it) was a little 'trigger happy' when putting my points in the 1st time after dual spec hit.

I missed this post too which deals with the same type of issue Link

Happy Killing!
