...that hunters have more than twice as many threads (almost 19k) in their forums as the second place warriors at 7500? Druids have 630! That's 30x the forum topics for hunters! egads!

There has to be a theory for this...short attention span? Hunters just love to QQ? Input anyone?

The Hunter community used to be the finest community on Allakhazam. If you check the post-dates, you'll find that most of the posts come from early on and came from a dedicated group of Hunters discussing everything from the Hunter class to anything, really. Not to mention that Priests mostly stick to Holy/Shadowpriest.com, and use Alla/WoWhead communities less.

Mostly since there's not all too much of a community here for Priests. Not enough of a stable core of posters that care and nurture it.

Priests don't need to tell each other all the time how freaking awesome they are and why they shouldn't be called Priestards...

Now if we could chose between the Shadowfiend and let's say a boar, the post count for this section would probably rapidly increase.

Tooting your own horn there North? lol

Nah J/K, I deeply valued your input very much back when I was a young hunter.

Heh, nice to hear. But it is true though. I see far less class discussion here than I did back when I bothered caring about Hunters. 3.1's patch notes have been known for quite some time now, and I see little discussion on how it will affect the class. Just glancing at the patch notes, I see some serious repercussions for many Priests out there, and yet there's little to no actual discussion on it.

Granted, I find that stuff on Shadow/Holypriest.com, but it's a little sad to see a community this... silent.

And as for Priests not telling eachother how awesome they are and so on, check the "heroic troubles" thread. I see nothing but "Waaaah, I'm a healer and should be recognized as muuuuuch more important and awesome than anyone else...", as if Healers are any less likely to ***** the pooch so hard it'll be locked up in the bathroom with soothing cream for a day.

So, more class discussion, less stroking the "I'm a healer!" e-peen bonus.

I've talked this over with a pall once and the 'which class attracts what people' value actually seems to apply here somewhat. The rogue forums are filled with number-loving nerds who'll get angry and gank your post the second they can. The priest forum is filled with lovely little hippies who have an "why don't we all just get along" attitude and the class generally doesn't seem to host a lot of hardcore players here, which seems to be why the forum is always empty.

True, personality types have a certain bearing in choosing classes, but that mostly goes for the first char or two. Once end-game is achieved, most people try out the direct opposite for new experiences or ***** and giggles. Thus, most communities have a blend of all kinds after a while. But yeah, I chose my Hunter as my first real main due to it's feel. To hunt, chase, kill with your companion always at your side. Deadly from range, agile and impossible to hit at melee range. Loners, walking around the wilderness with only their companion with them, knowing all there is to know about their surroundings.

Hell, I've been doing that stuff since I was fourteen. Then accentuated that through the Army. Never thought of it while I was playing the class, but after a while it was pointed out to me how the class and the personality fit eachother fairly well.

Buuuuut that was before Hunters became such lazy, facerolling, no-challenge class it is today. It wasn't too hard back then either, but at least it took some preparation, research and patience to play one really well.

You've just explained my WoW-life. That's curious.

Most of the best information for the priest classes can be found at elitistjerks.com

Priests (especially shadow) are a highly math-intensive class, if you wish to truly understand the mechanics that drive our abilities) and the mathmagicians and theorycrafters ofer at EJ have dedicated a great deal of time and effort into talent builds, spell "rotations" and gear choices. Alla is still a great source of "entry-level" knowledge that is perfect for someone just to get their feet wet, the EJ forums really focus and show all the intricate pieces that whirl within our shadowed dance of death.

)I apologize for typous, drama-llaamas and etc stuff. Just got back from partying in NYC)

I think the real answer is because shadowpriest.com, love it/hate it/disagree with it
the site is pretty huge.

The rouge section on this website is amazing I might add

I think it is more to do with hunters being both the easiest and the hardest class to play at the same time.

It is the easiest because anyone once they figure out how to get to level 10 and get the pet can just stand still send pet then auto shot all the way to level 80 and then find they have no real ideas on how to play the class well.

Hardest because there are more variations in what they have to do no matter which tree they pick unlike most other classes which to me seem very well defined even druids have a more defined play style from what i have found on mine.

I think this is why the hunters forum gets so many questions ? .

I bet more roll a hunter as their first character as well.
